Quick Tips For Transferring Movies To Your PSP

Yep, it’s time for another quick rundown of something you might already know how to do. It’s good to have a refresher, though, and it’s also polite to let the newcomers learn a few new tricks. Today our topic is: Transferring movies from your computer to your PSP.

The first thing you’ll need to do is make sure the file is in the right format. You’ll need to convert your videos from whatever they’re in to start into the MP4 format, which is what the PSP can handle.

Movie files on the PSP follow a pretty regular naming format: They begin with the letters M4V, followed by five digits, and they finish with a .MP4 extension. For instance: M4V01093.MP4 is a valid file name.

Pick up a free MP4 converter on the Internet, and you’ll be ready to go. Just do a quick search to find one, or try a few out until you’re comfortable with the software.

So, let’s move the new .MP4 file onto your PSP. Here we go! Just connect the PSP to the PC. Wait until the memory stick icon pops up on your computer. Open it up and create a new folder named MP_ROOT. Inside that folder, create another folder named 100MNV01. Then, copy your .MP4 files from your hard drive to the MP_ROOT/100MNV01/ folder. That’s it! Should work like a breeze, and you’ll get the hang of it fast.
