Word from the geek circuit is that the brave hardware hero LordLeXat has discovered that he can use a Nokia battery with his PSP. This is really only handy in a pinch but, hey, maybe you’ll be in a pinch someday.
According to a report posted by LordLeXat, the Nokia battery actually lasts longer than the standard PSP battery. Writes the discoverer himself,
“The battery is lighter and has nearly 150% lifetime of the original 1800mAh PSP battery, and by the way, the text of the Nkia battery reads 1020mAh.”
His rigging-up consists of a standard Nokia battery pack (BL-5C), which he utilizes by hooking it up to the PSP battery control board. We really don’t recommend trying this at home folks, but if you’re the type that’s inclined to tinker, give it your best shot. We’re not liable for any tear-jerking disasters that befall you, however. Stay tuned for more news and reports about this nifty hardware hack.
Dude a NOKIA BL-5C battery is 3.7v A psp Can only handle 3.6v…do the math
After doing the math i found out that it is a just a basic negative and positive connection to a rechargeable battery… provided the voltage matches of course. any battery will loos it’s accurate voltage after cpl times you recharge it, this could work with other cellphone batteries as well, as long as its of correct voltage. Its a good idea i think.
Hey, this site is really great, I’ve seen a lot of great stuff my friend downloaded to her PSP from here… but I was just wondering… do you need a computer to download this stuff? Or can you download it with just a PSP and internet connection?
Hope that’s the case… cause my computer is WAY old, and I really want to see some You Tube videos without having to download from pspube.com all the time! Really would appreciate it if you replied…
