PSXChecker v1.0 Now Available For PSP

PSP homebrew - PSXChecker v1.0

Homebrew developer Xager has released PSXChecker v1.0. Although the name is little confusing (it doesn’t have anything to do with the PlayStation One), the software is still a very handle utility for the PSP. It’s designed as a diagnostic tool for the PSP that can test and comment on system routines of the PSP. It can confirm that all of the buttons are working, can test the left and right audio channels, and makes attempts to repair stuck pixels. This application could really come in handy someday, and we give props to Xager for his contribution.

According to Xager, he’s still got a few things he’d like to add to the software:

  • Graphical menu, not likely but still possible.
  • Change sound to “left channel, right channel”
  • More tests?
  • Possibility to test a second joystick?
  • Eastereggs?
  • Fullscreen TV-out, will look into it for 1.1

Sounds great, and we’re looking forward to the next release. For now, check out the download package for PSXChecker v1.0 and see what you think. Stay tuned here for more updates to this juicy homebrew fruit as they drop.
