Cave Story Is The Underground Sleeper Hit Of The Millennium
We’re giving you a chance to try out a game you may or may not have heard about over the past several years. Since arriving on the scene in 2004, Cave Story claims to be arguably the most well-known indie game of all time. It boasts a complex universe teeming with engrossing gameplay and original personality.
The basic thread of the story is that a world built on freedom and joy is suddenly threatened by an ominous evil force. The creatures of the Cave Story universe, known as Mimigas, must be saved from utter destruction by a humble, quasi-Asbergian young boy whose amnesia is so far reaching that he can’t recall even his own name.
You’ve got to run your hero around the island, uncovering plot elements and learning about how the Cave Story universe can tap into its own original power and save itself from a nebulous future of whimpering and dismay.
If you’re running a version of Firmware 3.XX, you’ll just need to download the file here, extract it, and drop the game contents into the Game150 folder.
