Up fresh in its nascent stages is an interesting little drawing utility that looks good enough to waste at least a few minutes on. The cheerful underworld coder, ZeroXorXdieXskater is back with Etch-A-Sketch Portable v0.1. Here’s a little statement from the developer, as well as a few tips on the controls:
“Etch A Sketch Portable is just what the title implies.
Not only do you have the ability to make cool retro drawings
you can change the color of your Etch A Sketch as well.
I whipped this up in an afternoon so the graphics are not
too good. I may update them.”
–//What are the controls?\\–
- Use the D-Pad or analog stick to control the cursor, as you move you draw.
- Press start to change the color of your Etch A Sketch
- Press music note to take a screenshot
- Press Select to reset your Etch A Sketch
Just in case y’all forgot, the original Etch A Sketch is a registered trademark of a toy manufactured by the Ohio Art company. It was originally invented in the late 1950s by a French electrician who called it the “Telecran” (telescreen) on account of its resemblance to a television. The Etch A Sketch contains a glass screen coated with aluminum powder. Two knobs control a moveable stylus, which scrape away the powder to leave a dark line on a light gray screen. The screen is “reset” by turning the screen upside down and shaking it.
