No More Film Adaptation For Castlevania
Even before it officially started, the film adaptation for Castlevania will no longer push through. According to sources, the production of the film has been “sucked out dry” so the producers decided to cut it.
Supposedly, it was to be a Paul W.S. Anderson production (also the one responsible for the Resident Evil series) and a Sylvain White direction. But as the directorial job was passed on to someone so does the production started it way to hell.
The film adaptation for Castlevania was first announced in 2007 and has gone through lots of ups and downs, including being affected by the writer’s strike middle of last year.
The story apparently was supposed to show the origins of Dracula and the rising of the Belmont Clan, who would soon be the vampire-slaying family responsible for saving the rest of humanity.
I was never really a fan of adapting game stories to film. I think we’ve had enough of those in Resident Evil but still some patrons of Castlevania might be disheartened to know they would no longer see the characters in the big screen. But hey, who knows maybe in the future we can have us some Castlevania film.
