PSPVC v3.72 Released For Windows

PSPVC v3.72 Released

Nick has released a new version of his PSP Video Converter. The free-to-download PSPVC v3.72 is especially created for Windows. With this application, you can virtually convert any video format to a compatible format for your Playstation Portable. Whether it’s a 3gp, wmv, avi or what not—the PSPVC v3.72 can take care of it for you.

The PSPVC v3.72 is, however, basically just a maintenance release of the earlier version. It takes care of the few bugs found in the previously released version.

This is the changelog of PSPVC v3.72:

  • Fixed the DirectX check-bug that was introduced in the previous version for Windows 7;
  • Fixed the issues with the pad/crop features effecting the “original” view when previewing the video before conversion;
  • Fixed the YouTube video downloader.

If you have the old version, I suggest you simply overwrite the files to fix the bugs there. But if you don’t have then, this is as good chance as any to download this file and install it in your trusty handheld portables. Don’t forget to install the codec pack huh?

The Revelation Of The GloryHole v0.1B

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

GloryHole v0.1B Released

Because it’s still on its first stage, this GloryHole by Kronicali is made exclusively for your Playstation Portables. So, Playstation users may have to step back a little.

Although gamers are complaining that the maker should have changed the name to something else (because it clearly confuses GloryHole’s patrons), this is still a little neat game we can play to pass the time.

In this version, a simple puzzle can be seen where you must guide the small circle (small white dot) to the big circle (big red dot). There’s a countdown timer and timed timer to give a little excitement to the game. There’s also a ranking system wherein you will see your rank and high scores against the other players of the game.

Perfect for a little downtime, this homebrew game will not knock your socks off with its ingenuity but it would definitely provide you with something to play with if you’re looking for something simple and refreshing.

Sony Ericsson’s Satio Phone Can Play PSP Games

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Recently, Sony Ericsson released the Aino phone where it enables the user to synchronized his PS3-stored media with the Ericsson phone. Now, Sony has just unraveled its new creation with the Satio phone.

This mobile phone can actually process Playstation games, enabling the user to play his favorite games in his own handheld mobile device. What a riot this could make! Here’s what Sony Ericsson’s Corporate Vice President Hirokazu Ishizuka has to say about the Satio: “I think we are very confident of our own solution–entertainment unlimited. Not only music entertainment experience but also imaging, cyber-shot technology and we have a 12.1 megapixels camera. On top of that, you can enjoy your PlayStation games so therefore this product is so powerful and we are very confident of this product’s success.”

I don’t have the list yet of what games we can play with the Satio. Reports, however, are putting Asphalt Road and Prince of Persia to the list. Both will be in HD format.

Expected to be released this coming fall, the Satio’s content library—downloadable games, movies, music, videos and applications—will only be available for the Asia Pacific region. No price has been announced yet for the Sony Ericsson Satio, but I sense an amount that will burn a hole in your pockets.

Triple Triad PSP v0.2 Released

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

I never did understand what’s all the fuss with the Final Fantasy series, but as my dear cousin is so addicted with the game… I obliged myself to set forth in knowing everything I can about it so, we can talk at the same levels.

The Triple Triad PSP v0.2 takes off where Final Fantasy left, but here’s the video trailer of the release so you can get a hang of the game.

And just in case, like me, you’re finding it hard to understand the video above, check this changelog:

  • Premium Deck disagreements
  • Management and deck use in match
  • Fixed exit when pressing HOME
  • Increased AI speed in game
  • Reduced downtime in any game
  • Adapt to new images of the game
  • Varied speeds entry cards in the lot
  • Entrance of the cards in a group game at a time
  • Changes to position the numbers on the card during the match
  • Fixed rule COMBO
  • Presentation of the game before loading

This card game is pretty interesting, especially for gamers of the Final Fantasy series. I would highly recommend you guys getting a load of this one. Some says this should have won the Homebrew Idol whose winner was announced last week so, there really must be something special about this homebrew game to battle the Light Cycle 3D out.

Debug Firmware 5.50 For PSP 1000 Featured

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Yoshihiro, a homebrew developer, unleashed a utility that installs 5.50 debug firmware on Playstation Portable 1000. It can also run the application without any limitations.

The Debug Firmware 5.50 For PSP 1000 is a testing tool that will allow you to test your downloaded games in file format during its development stage. It will also allow you to see hidden options of your PSP, which could possibly unlock the full capacity of the system.

This testing tool will especially be useful for gamers who do not like downloading different games and plugins into their handhelds without assurance that they will work productively with the system. This will conveniently save time and space for gamers.

Hopefully too, Yoshihiro would create something like this for the PSP 2000 and 3000.

Although no date has been announced yet regarding its release, watch out for this testing tool. This is one download I’m sure you won’t regret.

Sanvian Warrior v0.1 Beta Finally Released

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

PSP homebrew game - Sanvian Warrior v0.1 Beta

After much waiting from this side, homebrew coder Predricted finally revealed his latest project, the Sanvian Warrior v0.1. Although still in its beta form, this game will figuratively blow you away, especially for action-packed game lovers.

Sanvian Warrior v0.1 Beta is about the last Sanvian army tasked to defend his city from its enemies (think Mel Gibson in Braveheart, Patriot). The game features fighting monsters, leveling up, using magic and many more to be discovered after you download this game.

For the game controls, all you have to do is use the analog stick to move: press X to attack, triangle to use magic and the up/down keys to set the amount of enemies.

The game also features some ass-kicking moves and styles by the primary Sanvian character so, download and get ahead with your game buddies.

Exclusive Video Game Trailer Of Transformer: Revenge Of The Fallen

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

In about two days, we would again be captivated by the awesome spectacle of fighting robots—the Decepticons and Autobots. The theatrical release of the new Transformers movie, the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is being widely anticipated by moviegoers all over the world. The sequel to Michael Bay’s blockbuster will surely captivate the young and old alike.

But what about gamers? What are we to do with a Transformers movie if we cannot control these robots? The new Transformers video game (whose features are exactly taken from the soon-to-be-released movie) will also make waves in the coming days. The new game will be released in multiplatform for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2 and your old reliable PC.

What I find deplorable about multiplatform releases is that often than not the graphic standards of these releases will be sacrificed because of the platforms they are supposed to work in. Activision, however, seems to have done something good with this release because you cannot notice how the game is trying to fit in all types of video graphics formats.

Price has not been announced for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen but watch out soon… it will be released June 23. Stay tuned.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Releases Tutorial Video

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

The makers of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Capcom, have just released a new tutorial video. Compared with the previously released videos, this one deals with quests and how you can tackle all of them. It also gives an overview summary of all the quests, which both the village elder and the gathering hall give out.

There are more features that the tutorial video deals with. Multiplayer hunts are briefly discussed. Although nothing is new for old gamers of this series, this is definitely a must-see for all those who would like to play the game for the first time. Beginners would find this really useful and helpful, especially regarding how they will finish the quests, which is ultimately the game’s main goal.

The video also improves the Encyclopedia Gigantica included in the game.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite will be released on June 23 so don’t forget to mark your dates.

1. Download Popsloader below, extract it, and copy the contents to seplugins on your memory stick;
2. Create a POPS.txt file under the seplugins directory and add this line to it “ms0:/SEPLUGINS/popsloader.prx” (without the quotes);
3. Download Psardumper;
4. Download the 4.01 firmware eboot;
5. Extract the 4.01 firmware archive and copy EBOOT.PBP to the root of your memory stick;
6. Using Psardumper, dump and decrypt 4.01;
7. Copy ms0:/F0/kd/impose.prx to the seplugins/popsloader directory;
8. Depending on the firmware version you wish to use (see the above screenshot), download the corresponding firmware eboot here;
9. Again, decrypt that firmware eboot using Psardumper;
10. Rename the following:

* 3.00 – 3.03: pops.prx, popsman.prx, meaudio.prx, pafmini.prx
* 3.10 – 3.30: pops.prx, popsman.prx, pafmini.prx
* 3.40 – 4.01: pops.prx, popsman.prx, pafmini.prx, libpspvmc.prx

to popsXXX.prx, popsmanXXX.prx (XXX being the firmware version, ie. pops310.prx), and so forth for each file;

11. Copy the new renamed files to the ms0:/seplugins/popsloader directory;
12. Enable Popsloader via the recovery console;
13. Copy your PSOne game eboot to your GAME folder and enjoy!

Thanks to homebrew coder GENyUS we can now play more PSX games with this latest CFW. If you already have the Popsloader 5.00 installed, however, simply overwrite that old version by re-installing this 5.50. It will work without any problem, don’t worry.
