PSPMarble: Orchestra Sensation v2.5b Updated

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

PSPMarble is a topnotch homebrew game that allows you to carefully guide your marble through the various physics-based 3D environments. By racking in points, you can achieve the highest possible score for the game.

Brick— PSPMarble: Orchestra Sensation v2.5b’s creator—released this new version to answer to some requests from its players and patrons of his other works.

Here’s what the update has in store for you:

  • COMPLETED REQUEST regarding the camera system (wrapping is allowed now). Requested by “the underminer”.
  • UPDATED physics module, now marble goes a bit faster, but the controls remain accurate, and they won’t make your life harder with “puzzles”.
  • UPDATED stacked particle system for smoother animation.
  • UPDATED session cache manager, and now the load times while you switch menu-related session are improved.
  • UPDATED an input event in the tutorial mode.
  • Plus more not-so-worth to mention.

This PSPMarble: Orchestra Sensation v2.5b uses a heavily modified version of LTE, is physics-based, has physics modifiers and dynamic scenes. It also has advanced scene management with ranged triggers/events/geometry culling and light management.

It also has a high-score system and level editor to let you keep tab of the game.

HardHat’s Battle Arena v0.61 Challenges You To Win The Sushi Tournament

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

PSP homebrew - HardHat's Battle Arena v0.61

Homebrew coders HardHat and Team Sushi collaborated to create this wonderfully unique game of Mage Masters and the meaning of life.

In this game, you are tasked to collect and train a party up to 6 mages, which will eventually let you win the Sushi Island Tournament. The first version of this game needed some minor tweaks and changes; luckily, HardHat and Team Sushi released another update to fix HardHat’s Battle Arena through its updated version 0.61.

The changelog for the new update is as follows:

  • added trainers who guide you through the whole Mage Master experience.
  • fixed underpowered spells from increasing your opponent’s health.  It now says attack was ineffective.
  • moved game save to START so that those O saving loops go away
  • use O to exit from battle preparation screens.
  • all new mage upgrades now happen at green or white training centres
  • rearranged the order of the training centres to have a more natural flow around the road, and switched the game save format.  The order is now: white, yellow, red, blue, black (tournament) and green.

The HardHat’s Battle Arena v0.61 is a cool and fun way to pass the time. Meeting Mage Masters and learning new stuff along the way is what makes this game extraordinary and unparalleled.

Four New Character For Ys 7

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

There are four new protagonists/antagonists to the roster of characters Ys 7 has made available.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Maya is the mute little girl who lost her family during the war, and was taken care of by Tia. Her muteness came from the shock and trauma of the war. Maya uses sign language to communicate.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Huet is described as the spirit with “quirky personality and innocence.” Her ability is to control fire.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Serra is the spirit that freely manipulates lightning.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Mixer, on the other hand, controls the element of water.

I’m still not sure what roles these new characters are going to play in Ys 7, but I’m pretty sure they’ll add more color and depth to the characters we love so much; not to mention how they’ll going to rack the world of Ys and its inhabitants.

New LabKillHomer3D v2.0 Released For PSP

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Remember how we featured in the past a homebrew game whose goal is to kill Homer Simpson? Well, pspflashsystem has just released an updated version of this maniacal game with the LabKillHomer3D v2.0.

Kill, murder, find the nearest exit and get ghost—those are the main goals in LabKillHomer3D v2.0. You can enter the labyrinth (or create your own), find Homer, kill him and locate the exit to enter the next stage.

This version’s changelog is as follows:

  • Walls are a lot brighter.
  • AI implemented: Homer’s moves are more “intelligent.”
  • Now just part of the mini map is drawn, so it’s more difficult to find the exit.
  • The text is now more clear.
  • Added a new splashscreen effect.
  • When you shoot new particles are drawn.
  • Homer now jumps when shot.

Included in this download is the Windows and Playstation Portable version of the game, a map editor and the source code.

Lte Lite Mod v1.2 Helps You Create Your Own Homebrew Games/Applications

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

For those who’d like an easier work in creating a homebrew game or application like a professional coder, the Lte Lite Mod v1.2 is for you. Created by Brick, a couple of HBI: 2 projects have already made use of this program.

There’s Brick’s own PSPMarble game and SG57’s Light Cycle 3D, which we just posted here yesterday.

Those who tried to create games before with LTE probably knows that it’s nearly next to impossible to develop full-featured games without having to deal with low FPS. This mod, however, improves that part, and turns Irrlicht port into a clean and fast renderer.

Visit this site http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f141/release-lte-lite-mod-t240347/ for more information on the technical know-how and modifications of this little app. Enjoy developing homebrew codes for us dear gamers.

Screencaps For Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 Revealed by Japanese Magazine

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Shonen Jump reveals first screens for Bleach: Soul Carnival 2

The first full view of the screencaps of Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 was finally revealed by popular Japanese gaming magazine, the Shonen Jump. The Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 is a very cool treat for the patrons of the first version of this game.

Especially made for the Playstation Portable (and I bet you can play it from its 1000 version up to 3000), the Bleach: Soul Carnival 2’s screencaps let you take a peek at what you may be waiting for release. Although those who have played Bleach: Heat The Soul 6 is mighty luckier because a demo version of the Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 was provided with side-scrolling action to boot, we’re still lucky enough to have a look at the new scans for the Soul Carnival 2.

There’s no release date yet as to when the Japanese would finally get to enjoy this game, and no word too if they’ll ever bring this to the West. But, let’s wait and see where the creators of this game will take us. Japanese gaming companies have provided us folks with plenty of games to enjoy anyway.

PSP Power Saver v.0.1.0 Released New Bug Fixes

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

PSP homebrew - PSP Power Saver v.0.1.0 bugfix release

My cousin told me there was something wrong with the power saver I cajoled him to install for his Playstation Portable (of course, that is purely for his own good). So now, he’s not talking to me simply because he cannot fix the application. Anyway, for those who had the same problem as my cousin, here’s the fix. Finally!

The new PSP Power Saver v.0.1.0 by homebrew developer Warlock released his updated application, which will fix the bugs to make it compatible with the PSP 3000. So, now I know why it won’t work with my cousin’s handheld console. The first one was supposed to be for PSP 1000 and 2000 only.

To install, simply put the PspPowerSaver.prx file in your seplugings folder and add ms0:/seplugins/PspPowerSaver.prx to your game.txt file. Now, you can enjoy extended battery life without having to charge your phone day in and day out.

Light Cycle 3D v2 Now With More Features

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

PSP homebrew - Light Cycle 3D v2

A new version of the popular Light Cycle 3D v2 from homebrew coder SG57 is back with all-new features and more bug fixes. The Light Cycle 3D v2 is a homebrew game based on Tron’s two-wheeled futuristic cycles.

In this new version, you can now turn while looking to the side and behind you. You can skip the Al by pressing Select (there’s an on-screen instruction for this). The gameplay is also now three times faster than the first version so you can enjoy seeing who won in fast forward after the game was finished. There are some more tweaks like fireworks for the winner, more lightning effects, flare-trail extension, graphical improvements for tracers and adjusted sound levels.

This version is a great development from the previously released one as it gives not only cool new features but also fixed some bugs that were overlooked in version one.
