Details For The Iron Man 2 Game Revealed

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

First details for Iron Man 2 game

Even before the Iron Man 2 the movie is released in theaters, Sega is already banking on its new game developed as a tie-in of the movie version. But although there’s the two versions share the same name, the game won’t follow the movie too closely.

The developer is said to be drawing stories from both the movie and comic book series, incorporating them and finding a middle ground for the two points to meet. The latest information about the new game revealed that we’ll be seeing Tony Stark “gifting the world with new technology in order to make it a better place.”  The technology, however, was used by the bad guys for their deeds, pushing Stark to come after them in full Iron Man combat gear.

The game will also feature enemies like the Crimson Dynamo. And in addition to the suit’s high-tech gadgets, Iron Man will also be getting some new toys and hand combat skills.

Sega is said to be targeting a 2010 spring release for the Iron Man 2. The game is being developed for PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.

Screenshots Of First Valkyria Chronicles 2

After the announcement that Sega will be bringing the sequel for First Valkyria Chronicles to the PSP, a fresh batch of screenshots was released early this week.

But although we are expecting an earlier release of the First Valkyria Chronicles 2 in Europe, particularly the United Kingdom, Sega has not announced any specific dates yet as to when this will come out in the Western region.

I will, of course, fail to elaborate on the pictures (Japanese-speaking gamers, enlighten us please). But I’ll leave you guys to try to decipher the characters in the pictures, and also to analyze what it says about how the game’s going to revolutionize gaming in PSPs.

Fate/Unlimited Codes Portable To Be Release In Early September

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Fate/Unlimited Codes hits PSP in two months

Capcom has unveiled that the Fate/Unlimited Codes Portable will not be released on summer, but in early September. Thanks to the company’s announcement, we can now officially scratch summer of our PDAs. Planners or whatever, and we can begin our countdown for September.

This game is a PSP version of the arcade fighter made popular by the developer Cavia. It accommodates local multiplayers (two players), unlockables, more than 250 missions and minigames.

Fate/Unlimited Codes Portable, however, will only be made available for download (meaning, this will not be for purchase on PSP retail stores). You can pay for it online for a surprisingly low price of $29.99. Capcom will also be showcasing this game at the Comic-con in San Diego this week.

Portable Bubble v1.0 Is Similar To The Puzzle Bobble

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Portable Bubble v1.0 Released: A Homebrew Clone of Puzzle Bobble and the Likes

Inspired by the Puzzle Bobble, Gefa released a brand new homebrew game called the Portable Bubble. It is also quite similar to Rui Barbosa Martin’s pyBubble script—a clone written in Python. It comes in 100 levels of ball-blasting adventure.

With its first version, Portable Bubble will allow users to create their own levels to play. Nice right? This homebrew game is pretty simple to install: after unearthing Portable Bubble from its archive folders, browse to PSP/GAME/PortableBubble/lvls. But if you want to make sure about how to install this game, visit first the default_levels.txt file, which is included in the download package.

To create your own level set, create a new text file in the same directory and follow using the default_levels.txt file as guide. The numbers 1 to 7 correspond to the colored balls while the dashes mean blank space.

Download the homebrew game below and play on.

Joyau v0.8 Interpreter Updated

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

For anyone coding in the ruby train, homebrew coder Kode has compiled the Joyau version 0.8 EBOOT. This is especially made for those who are not industrious enough to create their own sources. And of course, using something off the collection rack of seasoned coders is safer in terms of encoding and interpreting.

Joyau is a Ruby interpreter for the Playstation Portable, which is slightly similar to the Lua you’ll code in Ruby. The EBOOT acts as the script interpreter.

As you can seriously jeopardize all these ruby interpreting when not done properly here are the things you need to now about the Joyau v0.8:

* Copy the “script.rb” file (your Ruby code) into the same directory as the Joyau EBOOT.
* The Joyau EBOOT is compiled with PSP_FW_VERSION = 371.
* Try LEDA or Time Machine if you’re experiencing problems with executing the EBOOT.

This need-to-knows are, of course, published during the first release of the Joyau ruby interpreter, so be careful since there are new fixes in this update.

gpSP-Mod 20-07-2009 Released

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

gpSP-mod-20-07-2009

I don’t have a very photographic memory but I know we have posted the previous version of this application. Well just in case I failed to post it, you can holler below and ask for it. Or instead, you can content yourself with this much better version of the gpSP mod.

The gpSP-mod released on July 20 (thus the date, as you can clearly see) is an emulator for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance for Sony PSP. It is based on gpSP and gpSP kai source code, which has been updated with this release.

The gpSP-Mod-20-07-2009 improves its compatibility with 5.50 GEN-B custom firmware for the PSP Fat (PSP 1000). Download it below and see if it works for your handhelds. I’m pretty sure we can expect more updates from the coder if there are any bugs in this pack.

Asuka Kazama Comes To You With A Kick In Tekken 6

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Tekken 6: Exclusive Asuka Kazama trailer

Here’s one of my favorite characters in PSP–Asuka Kazam. This Japanese-punching (and poking) fighter is one of the most commonly used charcters in the popular series of games, Tekken 6. And ever since her debut, we have seen her develop some interesting battle moves.

Her good launch moves, versatile juggles (you’ll see her feet do some tap-tapping on the floor), quick pokes and her variations of high and low attacks equally made her in league to my own Lily. This trailer will actually convince you why Asuka is a force to reckon with (not to mention that she’s got incredible-looking wardrobe too).

Being at the receiving end of any of Asuka’s combo would give you one hell of a blackeye (if it’s in real life, of course) and would knock you out for good. See your life meter quickly decreases from every punch and combo kicks you’ll get from Asuka.

Tekken 6 will be available for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PSP.

15 Puzzle’s Version For PSP Released

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

15 Puzzle Released for the PSP

Have you ever got those freaky picture puzzle games that comes free with a purchase of maybe Cheerio or Kellogs? Mine features Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. Decidedly, it was a fun game to pass the time with, especially as I wait for my cousin to finish his round of game in his PSP’s Tekken.

But now, there’s no more need to bring along that annoyingly cute square puzzle game with you. This classic game of sliding tiles, called the 15 Puzzle, has now been released for the popular handheld console. Why 15 puzzle? Well simply put, the game consists of sliding each tile from left to right, right to left, up and down… keep doing that each and every tile is numbered one to 15. Pretty simple huh?

It’s actually a classic game for kids. Not much brain is needed here although I’m likening it to the Rubik’s Cube, which incidentally also has its own version for the PSP. See? That’s what I have been telling you. Pretty soon, all those simple-crafted games would invade this electronic machine that we call PSP.

Duck Hunt For PSP Released

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Duck Hunt PSP

In 1984, the masters of Nintendo for the NES platform published the Duck Hunt—a basic and simple game of killing ducks. Essentially, the point of the game is to shoot as many ducks as possible in five rounds.

Now, homebrew coder scionsamurai, has released a version of the popular old game Duck Hunt for the Playstation Portable. To control the game, you have to use the stick analog pad to move and R to shoot. Basically, that’s all the controls the game needs. To pause, you will have to press Start. In the UR DUCK, press the directional keys to dodge the bullets.

I must say that thanks to these homebrew game coders, we can now enjoy the old Nintentdo games we used to play in our consoles. Now, I only hope they can bring Battle City to the PSP. That would really rock my world.
