REminiscencePSP NeoFlash Edition Released

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

REminiscencePSP NeoFlash Edition

This homebrew game, released by Sektor, is coming up with some new features that just about made my day. This is something we don’t usually see homebrew coders make.

REminiscence is a rewrite of the engine used in the game Flashback from Delphine software. This version is specifically written for the Playstation Portable, so PSP users will be able to enjoy this application. For those of you who don’t know about Flashback, it is a 2D platformer with the same style and gameplay as classics like Another World and Prince of Persia.

To run this REminiscencePSP NeoFlash, you need a copy of the data files from the DOS version of the Flashback. Get the copy of the files here.

A Short Valkyria Chronicles 2 Trailer

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Valkyria Chronicles 2

This 15-second clip from Valkyria Chronicles 2 is just enough to tease you gamers out of your pants, and into researching what this game has to offer. I haven’t been much of a fan of the Valkyria series, but I think there’s more to this game than meets the eye. You can check the game out for yourself below.

Personally, I would have preferred playing with the old graphics than this anime-inspired version of the game. There are cutscenes of anime videos in this trailer so for those who are not much a fan of the anime, this might throw you off a bit. But really, it’s a good thing they were even able to bring the Valkyria Chronicles 2 to the PSP. I was thinking in the past that the makers may not be able to bring this series to the PSP, but here it is. We can be able to enjoy it now that it’s here.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 will be out in Japan later this year. It will be titled Senjou no Valkyria 2 Gallia Royal Academy there.

Chicken Invaders v1.2 Released

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Chicken Invaders v1.2 Released

So finally, the PSP version of the Chicken Invaders was released to us gamers. I have been waiting for this to arrive to my PC screens so I can spread the “good word,” as they say.

The Chicken Invaders (which I first learned from a friend) is a popular PC game that has now finally made its way to the PSP. All you have to do is kill the flying chickens then catch them once they’re fried. Yeah I’m not kidding. Once the chickens are killed, they will turn into fried chicken legs. Funny huh? This is Kairus101′s PSP version of the popular game.

Chicken Invaders 1.2 includes the following changes:

- SOUND! due to the huge response from 1.1

- level display (the “level 1 wake up!” thing)

- better points system

- improved graphics

- reduced lag by taking out a fifth of the explosion particles

- reduced lag by decreasing firing rate

- increased present drop rate

- boss chicken moves everywhere, not just side to side

- level 4 changed because the chickens heads went out of the screen

- fixed the rocks dropping drumsticks

- increased hyperspace speed

- added version number text on title screen

The long wait is over for this game. Now, we can enjoy playing this often funny game of killing flying chickens. Download below and start shooting!

Hear !t: Another One From The !t Series

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Hear !t

After releasing Turn !t a couple of weeks ago, here now is another homebrew game from the !t series. Hear !t is a new PSP game that should be played on a PSP custom firmware.

Released by Preyker and -blue7, this new homebrew game is another participant in the third PSPKING.DE Coding Competition. -blue7 was responsible for the graphics while Preyker focused on the coding. And because Hear !t will be a participant in the coding competition, the coders only have three days to finish and complete the development of the game.

So probably like the Turn !t, some physical mechanic might be included in the gameplay. Download it below and try the game for your pleasure.

Macrofire v3.0.5 For PSP Released

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

MacroFire v3.0.5 Released

This latest update from coder pen is a plugin for your PSP, which is pretty much a functional application for gamers who are into serious apps and stuffs like this. The Macrofire v3.0.5 allows you to record button macros, adjust the analog nub sensitivity level, remap controls and enable rapid-fire on select buttons. It will consume about 70K of your memory stick.

Here’s the changelog (translated from Japanese to English so pardon some grammatically wrong phrases):

- When booting from internal flash memory, ms0: / seplugins / macrofire.ini to go looking for a fix.

- Macrofire.ini for some reason fails to read the menu at the top “Loaded: Built-in” was to be displayed.

- UseVolatileMemory macrofire.ini of the [Menu] section [Default] section moved.

- macrofire.ini to UseGraphicsMemory added.

- Fix was not set correctly to initialize the analog stick.

- MacroFire PSPFiler and to display a menu and fix the problem then had been unable to update the screen.

- 3.0.4 fixed the “load to be processed to confirm the name of the INI file section, there is still a problem to fix.

The coder also advises downloaders to “read from the configuration file when blazing as auto-hold demanded did not fix the problem read.”

Also, “the Rapidfire macrofire.ini is made only if you set auto-load as the configuration file entry cannot fix the problem that sets the automatic fire mode.”
