PCE (Turbo Grafx 16) For PSP v0.82b3 Released

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

PCE (Turbo Grafx 16) for PSP v0.82b4 Released *Updated*

An alternative for Turbo Grafx 16 has been created by an unknown Japanese creator. The PCE for PSP v0.82b3 is another plugin you can install in your PSP if you are having trouble with ZX-81′s PSPHUGO, or vice-versa.

Unfortunately for us, it is really difficult for me to provide a changelog for this application since its all written in Japanese. Feel free, of course, to post a translated version of the readme file for those of you who can understand Japanese. Be assured though that PCE v0.82b3 improved compared with whatever earlier versions you have installed in your PSPs.

For more information, try begging for a Japanese friend to peruse the readme file included in the download pack.

Java PSP Makefile Creator v1.1 Released

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Java PSP Makefile Creator v1.1

This first version of the Java PSP Makefile Creator from alatnet is intended to create makefiles that are tailored to PSP programming. Among its features include: multiplatform for all operating systems that use java like Linux, Windows and Mac, real time update and preview of makefile, adjustable views of preview and entries, save the makefile where you want, some tooltips of entries like the OBJS, LIBS and PSP_EBOOT_TITLE.

In the coming versions, we can expect for its ability to automaticall scan the PSP library directory to be able to add libraries to the makefiles that you have already created under this homebrew app.

The coder notes that the “start JPMC.sh” may not work for Mac or with Linux. If you are, however, having problems with running it on your system, open bash or a command prompt to the folder where the jar file is and execute java.

For Windows-based programs, all you have to do is double click the jar file and it will automatically execute the program.

PSPVC v3.75 Fixed Bug Issues

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

PSP homebrew - PSPVC v3.75

Nick Swardh, a homebrew developer, released a new version of PSP video converter that will let you convert videos taken by your digital cameras into a format compatible with the PSP. This latest update fixes some known bug issues from the previously released versions.

The changelog for this update is as follows:

- Windows 7 compatible

- Added an automatic CCCP update-check (optional)

- Added a newer version of AviSynth

- SSA/ASS subtitles are now prioritized and pre-selected over other formats

- Fixed a bug in the automatic audio-delay function

If your previous 3.74 crashed in XP or Windows 7, better download and reinstall this one. The updater also removed the “build check” that caused Windows 7 to crash, and prevented PSPVC to run in older models.

Nintendo 64 Emulator Rev.430 Released

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Daedalus x64 rev.430 - Nintendo 64 Emulator for PSP

A new update for the Nintendo 64 Emulator has just been released by Kreationz, the homebrew coder. These rev. 430 though is not as stable as I would want it to be, although its pretty decent compared with other updates that has got nothing to offer in way of bug fixes or new features.

Here is the changelog for this revision:

- Debug console should not be initialized in Release mode – Salvy

- Reverted Change to GBI2_ModifyVtx from Rev 416 (Fixes a couple titles that broke) – Salvy

- Removed CFW 3.71 support (We require higher firmware anyway, fixes a few warnings)

- Properly defined the FlatShadeDisabled hack and Added to options on Debug Build

- Reduced Slim RAM cache for texels to same size as Phat (Large Cache is no longer needed and doesn’t improve performance and can be used elsewhere)

- Reduce Texel Cache size after large Texel ( >64K ) is used. Fixes crash on Phat (Tetrisphere goes in game on Phat and SSV doesn’t crash when using select.)

- Reduced intrafont memory usage (Used low mem font options)

- Changed default deadzone to 28 to work better with “Well loved” PSPs

- Cleaned-up more compiler warnings

If you’ve got more things to request from a Nintendo 64 emulator, do say so in the comments section. I am sure the makers of this useful emulator will be ablt to accommodate our humble requests.

MGS Peace Walker TGS 09 Demo Explained By Konami

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Konami details MGS: Peace Walker TGS 09 demo

Kojima Production has just detailed the demo version of MGS: Peace Walker they will be playing at the coming TGS 09. So for those of you who are waiting for a bit of a news regarding the playable version, here is your chance to get to know more about the game.

There are two ways to play the demo, according to Kojima. You can line up and get a copy of the demo version at the TGS, or you can download the playable demo from the Demo Download Areas.

The version in the Demo Play Area is different, however, because it contains one extra mission that is not included in the downloadable demo. Those who will be playing the demo will also get a t-shirt, special badge, and a TGS-exclusive PSP button attachment.

Here are more details:

Tutorial/Opening (1 Player) – This mission includes the introduction of the story, the explanation of the control schematics, and a training session. Recommend for first-time players.

Neutralize the Stronghold (1 – 2 Players) – This is a sneaking mission in which the player must neutralize a base that is under enemy control. For intermediate players.

Infiltrate the Mountain Facility (1 – 2 Players) – This is a sneaking mission in which the player must infiltrate an enemy facility that is located in a mountainous region. For intermediate players.

Tank Battle (1 – 4 Players) – This mission’s goal is the disarmament of the enemy tank and reinforcements. For advanced players.

The downloadable version will also not include the “Infiltrate the Mountain Facility” mission. Those who will download it must also make sure that their PC or laptop has 6.00 firmware and 200MB free space in their memory sticks.

Rock Your PSPs With The XCM Bling Faceplates

Bling Faceplate For Psp 3000

Bored with your usual PSP look? I mean, black seems to be “in” these days, but there’s still no comparison if you can get your PSPs to look funky and cool. With the XCM Bling Faceplates, you will be able to convert your PSP into an ordinary-looking console into something that will match your outfit, style, and even your mood.

The XCM Bling Faceplate is a complete customization kit for your PSP. Available in red, blue, green and violet. The XCM Bling Faceplates, however, is only compatible with the 3000 series (sorry for those who owns a PSP 1000 or 2000). The kit includes all buttons and tools required for installation, and even protects your PSP screen with the built-in protector.

Let’s just hope that this will soon be available for other PSP versions.

Tune Me Guitar! v0.1 Released

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

TUNE-ME-GUITAR!-v0.1

If you’re a great fan of the Guitar Hero, then here is the chance for you to play something akin to it on your PSPs. As its title probably tells you, the game combines the strategic features of the popular Guitar Hero game and that of an actual guitar plucking.

According to its coder manaxed, he is still pretty new with creating homebrew games using LUA so we should bear with him when we noticed some bugs that needed to be fixed especially in the start up menu. But comments are, of course, welcome so better to holler below if you find something that needs to be altered or fixed. Hopefully, the next version would be better than this.

So far, it has been pretty useful and entertaining for me. If you’re into a monotonous but highly challenging game, then this one is for you.
