gpSP-J 090905: Gameboy Advance Emulator

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

gpSP-J 090905

A Japanese coder released the latest update for the Gameboy Advance emulator–the gpSP-J. This application is based on the original work of homebrew developer Exophase. This latest release, however, is based on UO gpSP-J kai by Japanese developer Takka.

The problem is we cannot give you more specific details regarding this release for now because the README file is written in Japanese. I tried translating it to English but it doesn’t make any sense to me. So, I’m welcoming any contribution from our readers and other PSP users that can understand Japanese to come and post your comments/translation regarding this app.

But for the meantime, this is another good way to bring back those old Nintendo games to our favorite portable handheld right? I’m seeing a lot of comeback in the future.

Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-B2 Released

GENyUS, a coder, is now back with the new update for the bug fix we found in 5.50 GEN-B2 way back. This will be applied to his latest version of custom firmware. The Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-B2 solves some compatibility problems with the homebrew application Recovery Flasher, which is essential to Hellcat, etc.

To install this custom firmware: download the file below, and install it directly on 5.50GEN CF-B. Make sure you have this particular custom firmware less you install it on a lower version like the 5.50 GEN-A.

If your PSP has the custom firmware 5.00M33 installed in it, update the first 5.50GEN-A and then to 5.50GEN. After that you can install this Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-B2.

Updates On DSONPSP Beta 6+ Source Code And Nintendo DS Emulator Released

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

DSONPSP BETA 6 + Source

Wanna play your Nintendo DS games in your other handheld portables? Say, your Playstation Portable? This application, still in its sixth beta version, is an edition from Kayliah.

This beta version has SpeedHack ARM9VBLANK, and has fixed glitch bug inside many games, including some weird-looking cubes. This update also fixed lag freezes in games like the Yoshi Island and the save game feature. And if you are one of those who likes tweeking with apps released here and there, the source code for this version is also updated.

More, if this will not work for you, you can emulate your DS for PSP using Yoshihiro’s port of DeSmuME: DSONPSP Beta 5.

The changes for beta 5:

- Removed vertical screen mode but I’ve added the screen swap.

- Added language support now working.

- GU support added.

- Very nice speed up; now many games are really playable.

- Fixed when nds games freeze your psp.

The source code is also added for the PSP, although it is still not cleaned. Make sure you study the code first before doing some changes of your own.

PSP Adhoc IM 4 Released

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

PSP Adhoc IM v4 Released

According to this app’s maker, qwikrazor87, this could be the last update for the PSP Adhoc IM for the meantime. This app allows you to chat directly with other PSP users in range. Kinda like the function of the Internet’s Instant Messaging apps like Yahoo! Messenger, MSN, Skype and plenty more.

The changelog:

- Added option to enable/disable text glow color

- Added option to change size of text size in messages

- Rearranged the menu a little bit

I’m sure that having the capacity to share files and pics is even more awesome than just chatting with other gamers. I mean, how can you chat while playing right? Pic-sharing, I guess, is more important than that since it will save you much time uploading pics from one PSP to another. Hopefully, version 5 will focus into this.

Macrofire v3.0.6 Released

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Macrofire v306

Japanese ClassG, the maker of Macrofire app, just updated his plugin macrophytes that comes now with the version 3.0.6. This app is a prx that lets you store more keys, particularly combo keys. This would be helpful in all those action-packed games. You can execute a lot of movements with just a press of a button.

This plugin also allows you to change the sensitivity of the analogue, and set the autofire for a key. Unfortunately, the changelog is in Japanese so I can’t really translate it for you guys. But I’m betting that there are a lot of bug fixes in this version. Other than that though, I pretty much know only that they upped the features of the application.

Download and check the improvement of this version. Holler below for comments!

AlphaBase v2.0 Fixed Bugs And Added Commands

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

AlphaBase v2.0

Developed by DekRaN, this is probably the last and best update of the AlphaBase–the bash debug that has now added under its wing six new commands (‘sub’, ‘goto’, ‘ochar’, ‘print2′, ‘make’ and ‘switch’) and fixed some known bugs.

Here is the complete changelog for this version:

- Added the commands ‘sub’, ‘goto’, ‘ochar’, ‘print2′, ‘make’ and ‘switch’;

- Removed the command ‘rchar’ since it was unified with ‘ochar’;

- Fixato a bug in the command ‘alarm’, now check the current system works perfectly;

- Fixato a bug in the command ‘imm’, which renders the writing of use when not receiving parameters because of the check is necessary.

- Fixato a bug in the Keyboard Commands Helper Danzeff, who slid down controls with little speed;

- Fixato a bug in the command ‘unload’, which is not allowed to remove from memory a previously uploaded image if it was assigned to the mouse cursor;

- Optimize the battery information in the command ‘info’;

- Optimize Commands Helper Danzeff the keyboard: If inputLine appear in the command ‘calc’, press Up or Down display all the math functions available;

- Optimized the command ‘unload’. If the mode is Normal, remove from memory all the elements previously loaded, otherwise you will get the word use;

- Optimized the command ‘input’;

- Optimized all the commands I / O (Input / Output)

- Optimized display system: If you reach the end or the beginning of a string, if the mode is Normal, and if you press the Right or Left, you will be taken automatically to the beginning or end of the string of output;

- Now the separation of complex parameters can also be set by Settings.ini (careful, however, does not apply any control over it);

- Syntax of the language is highly optimized;

- Code optimized;

- Added system Shot: You can change all the information of a user running the previous example to display a line, or printing an image, store it as final parameter in the respective command input (eg ‘line’, ‘ imm ‘) the ID of the previous run.

- The command ‘print’ has been divided into ‘print’ and ‘print2′, respectively, for the first print media system, the second for general print media;

- Added a system for formatting in inputLine Danzeff keyboard (you can change the cursor position to insert new characters in inputLine simply pressing left or right);

- Removed the system qlist, since the file management system is dysfunctional in LUAPlayer HM7 (will not be considered the characters of escape when reading a file from bash);

- Added an event system (useful for those who want to challenge themselves to make individual programs but still directly connected environment AlphaBase);

- Renew the eboot.

The coders also optimized many of the functions already present in the previous version. They also updated the homebrew code. By the way, remember that AlphaBase is open source so developers can feel free to mangle this little app.
