VGT Evolution v1

Team VGT just released their latest installment to the world of homebrew application with the first official version of the VGT Evolution. Visually speaking, this app is probably the coolest that I have seen in my recent blog hoppings.

The VGT Evolution is developed in the C language, and has an image of MP3 included inside the EBOOT. There are two themes to choose from with this app (the Mac-like style). There are effects included when you open a window and the language is charged in function as the one you have in XMB (Spanish and English).

Some more features of the VGT Evolution:

- “Scroll” and “Blink” messages.

- If the prx aren’t with the EBOOT, the homebrew won’t start.

- There’s an information bar: User, and Battery info.

- MP3 Sound in the bar and credits.

- VGT Menu:

- Change language.

- Change theme.

- Screenshot.

- Exit to XMB.

- Reboot PSP.

- Shutdown PSP.

Download below, and try this cool new app that is visually and functionally stunning.

AVEC GPS v3 In 1.50 Kernel Released

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

AVEC GPS V3 (1.50 Kernel) - Release!

The release of this AVEC GPS v3 (1.50 Kernel) coincides with the new firmware that will soon be released, the 6.00. The coder, however, is still in the lookout of who can sponsor him with a PSP-290 GPS accessory, so to be able to test the compatibility of this app with other firmwares.

The AVEC GPS v3 In 1.50 Kernel can track your position on the map in real time with any serially connected GPS device that is compatible with the MapThis! program. The brand receivers include Garmin and Hollux. This version also has a “Find Place By Name” feature that can find any place in the map. There’s a text entry system for this that has auto complete just like with commercial GPS units.

The pack includes a Windows MP conversion tool to produce files of the new MPI type. This can allow fast-searching for real-time GPS navigation. The MP files can be converted with AVEC on the PSP, although your PC might run a little slower because of this.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Trailer

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Prologue & Opening Movie

After confirming the release of Phantasy Star Portable 2, Sega is now releasing some video clips of their recent installment to the Phantasy Star series.

Sega’s official website has just posted a trailer of their new flagship game–the Phantasy Star Portable 2. And although everything else is in Japanese (except for Hideaki Kobayashi’s “Living Universe,” which is the song played in the background), I trust you will enjoy this video as much as it gave me something to look forward to. Really, you need not learn or understand Japanese in order to appreciate this trailer.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 is expected to be released in Japan on December 3, 2009.

Here are the changes with this version, according to its developer:

- GU (hardware) rendering

- little code cleanup (for example software renderer removed)

- fixed some legacy’s bugs

- removed some things (for example old status bar)

- new bugs added (but i don’t know them yet)

For more information on this app, read through the info.txt file before installing this in your portables.

PSP Theme: Call Of Duty World At War For 5.50 GEN

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

PSP Theme: Call of Duty W@W 5.50 GEN (Animated)

Nothingface420, who has several homebrew trophies under his belt, again created another fabulous theme for us. This new homebrew theme leans more to guys rather than girls, so I am sure those who loves action-packed games will love the intricate appearance (not to mention, macho design) of this theme.

This theme is an animated custom firmware for the 5.50 GEN. More or less, it has an interface not unlike the Counterstrike, or even DOTA. The coder uses minimum colors to strengthen the “macho” appearance of this theme. And while I am very fond of neutral colors, I don’t think the monochromic theme of this application will work for me.

Also included in the team who worked for this theme are Vegetano, ZingaBurga, Highboy, patpat and Team GEN.
