Gran Turismo For PSP Now Available At Target

Gran Turismo PSP spotted at Target

If you’re waiting for the release and availability of the Gran Turismo for PSP, here is your chance to get your hands on the real action. Target store has just put on their selves a copy of the Gran Turismo for PSP so if you’re lucky and quick enough, you might be able to play it in a few short hours.

As early as today, the Gran Turismo is available at Target stores for $39.99. The game is supposed to be released only on October 1, but it seems that Target got to it first before any other major game stores out there. I am not sure what Target store the picture was taken but judging solely from this one little photo, it looks amazingly real. That means we can now play the popular car race game as soon as we rush to the nearest Target store.

I’m still in awe with the latest screencaps I have seen of the Gran Turismo but knowing that it can now be purchased must have brought joy to hundreds out there waiting for the official release of Gran Turismo.

For those of you who has the firmware 5.50 installed, simply put your updater on root of you memory stick renamed 5.50PBP. You can also use it to restore any official firmware on the Slim and Fat.

More, you can install any TT’s firmware on PSP Fat when you need to put your eboot.php on roots of your memory stick like the X:/EBOOT.PBP. You can also convert your old DC8 magic memory stick in shiny 5.50 GEN-B2.

To do this, “Just select in the XGEN option Install XGEN pandora and restart your psp don’t forget to put the 5.50 eboot.pbp updater on root of your ms renamed in 550.pbp. to bypass the battery check please connect your AC cord,” according to the developer.

AVEC V6 Released: Now Has 3D Terrain

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

AVEC V6 Released: Now with 3D Terrain

Homebrew coder Art has just released the latest update of his cool application, the AVEC– a GPS for the PSP. Now with the 3D terrain and improved MPI routines, this is probably the best version of this much-needed app.

Version 6 is composed of the following changes:

Implemented 3D terrain view mode for topographic maps with two configurable terrain exaggeration levels.

Fixed bug present only in user mode version where the grid was not rotating with map while in GPS mode.

Removed canvas size option from the configuration menu.

Changed position indicator slightly to improve visibility.

Added street names to map display at highest zoom level if street names are available in the map file.

Fixed zoom routine to ensure highest zoom level is always available.

Changed the default GPS mode zoom level to the highest zoom level.

Removed delays in image capture routine that were not supposed to be present in any public release.

Improved the look and the control of scrolling in the configuration menu.

Sound now works in GPS mode for user mode version only. USB GPS routines are running in a dedicated thread.

Implemented new compressed mpi file format resulting in faster map file searching and smaller file size.

The PSP-290 USB GPS unit can now be plugged in after the user mode version of the program has started.

Fixed bug in mpi converter routine. Program would crash if a street name began with an open bracket character.

Program no longer adjusts the PSP clock speed. By default, the PSP will run at 222MHz.

The download also includes an MP Converter Tool since leaning on the PSP to do the conversion of maps might take forever. This version also has a turn-by-turn navigation feature, so you might as well download it for you to test it on the road.

PSP Go’s Launch Will Be Highlighted With 16,000 Downloadable Content

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Sony: PSP Go will have 16,000 pieces of downloadable content at launch

For those of you waiting for the release of the PSP Go this October 1, hold on to your seat for this exciting news. When PSP Go launches on October 1 it will come with 16,000 downloadable content, so you can choose at your heart’s desire what games and applications you want for your new toy.

Of course, the figure is not at all new content. Some of those counted are already available for download on the Playstation Network. Here’s a breakdown of what you can get come October 1:

225 downloadable games (full PSP titles, PSN exclusives, UMD legacy titles and Minis)

2,300 movies

13,300 TV episodes

And because retailers are criticizing Sony PSP Go’s download-only model, Sony will be letting retailers sell Playstation Network Game Cards, which will contain voucher codes that will allow you to download a game for your PSP Go. Voucher-friendly games include Gran Turismo, Patapon 2, Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus.

TxtoPS V Homebrew Text Editor For PSP Released

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

TxtoPS V Released: A PSP Homebrew Text Editor

With this new application, your PSP has just become the modern pen and paper. The app has an intuitive interface as well as smooth and clear visuals. This is indeed homebrew coder dangee’s creation for the PSP.

TxtoPS, however, doesn’t work on custom firmware 5.50 GEN-B. Also, as written in its readme file, only M33 custom firmwares are supported by the app. But it does work with PSP 1000 running on 5.00 M33-6. The TxtoPS got an IR keyboard support too although if you’d want to use a PalmOne Universal Wireless keyboard, it would probably not work also.

Remember to check out the readme file first before installing this application as details of the IRDA support and other important things on the changelog is included in it.
