There’s something I don’t understand why Sony updated its Playstation Portable 5.51. But here it is in plain and simple sight… the updated version of the PSP Firmware 5.51.

I deduce nothing extraordinary with this update, just a couple of network passes we couldn’t do before. There’s the same old nonsense; and an improved system software stability during the use of some features. Aside from that, I couldn’t see anything special with the updated Firmware 5.51.

If you’re the hacked but Pandoraless, PSP 3000 or TA-088v3 type, I wouldn’t recommend updating your firmware to the 5.51. There are more important applications for…

In the past, owners of the Playstation Portable 2 and 3 would risk bricking their handheld consoles if they board it with CTF themes. But thank to Total_Noob’s unofficial version of Poison’s CXMB for Custom Firmware 5.03 Gen-A, PSP 2 and 3 users can now load CTF-based themes in their consoles and enjoy the different interfaces of a CTF theme.

Total_Noob also said that CTF 5.02 is already compatible with the PSPs 2 and 3 with this new unofficial version of CXMB custom firmware. But he failed to mention whether CTF 5.00 is also compatible with the two handhelds so for…

I’ve got some good news, and of course, some bad news too. First off, Xenogears and Becus25 have finally released their first version of the Custom Firmware Enabler. This would finally allow select features to be in the Playstation Portable—those features that are most common in custom firmwares. Beware though that it does not include the POPs and the recovery console.

Here’s the even better stuff: the Custom Firmware Enabler v1.0 includes ISO support, which are backups of your legitimately owned UMDs). These ISOs are now working with handhelds sporting the TA-088v3 motherboard.

However, and here’s the bad stuff: PSP 3000 users…
