As my 13-year-old cousin rants nonstop about why his new Playstation Portable can’t be hacked by some computer genius, I stumbled upon an article announcing the release of PSPrx Launcher version 2.2, which could load PSP plugins for ChickHEN users. Amazing isn’t it?

Apparently, as many ChickHen users sulk on one corner waiting for Team Typhoon’s ChickHEN R3 with plugin (PRX) to be releases (which, according to sources, is nearing completion already), XMBDebug has just made available for download the PSPrx Launcher v2.2 complete with codes enabling ChickHEN users to download PSP plugins into it.

Sitting comfortable at 2244a is the latest version of OpenBOR from developer SX. Most notably OpenBOR now supports SecurePAK mods. So what I suggest: playing Night Slashers X.

OpenBOR v3.0 Build 2244a changes:

  • Moved DebugInfo Option from video options to system options
  • Added new option in System Options to Disable File Logging. Which improves load times if you are not concerned about log files and in-gameplay logging slowdown. Default Enabled.
  • New Default CPU speed for PSP is 333 MHz
  • SecurePAK is supported in the Build

Trust M@X and Sleepper, two hard core PSP enthusiasts to have a tough time on their hands. If latest reports have to be believed, they have been working tirelessly on the PSPKVM package, a package that promises to have you fixing all the bugs on your PSP console. Damn it, why ever does the PSP have any bugs?

Fans of the development company Atlus will have to wait at least an additional month to get their hands on this year’s first batch of titles. Five games were slated to launch this month: Hammerin’ Hero for the PSP, the Dark Spire for the DS, Steal Princess for the DC, Trackmania DS, and Tokyo Beat Downfor the DS. Hats off to PSP developers Klutsch and RainMotorsports, whose collaborative efforts have produced a nifty piece of homebrew entitled PSP Grader 8. This is a Windows application that makes great advances in uniting PlayStation Portables with their destined homebrews.
