Well, gentle readers, it’s finally here: Another home-cooked piece of gaming goodness for the PSP-3000 that utilizes the recently discovered GripShift exploit. The new homebrew, titled Bomberman GripShift v1, was developed by Team P86, the same elite hacker dudes who brought you PMP VLC Player for the PSP.

XiaoFeiChong And Team Omega Cook Up Custom Firmware 5.02

The last official release of PSP firmware was at the end of November 2008, and since then two separate custom firmware versions of 5.02 have appeared on the Internet.

One of the custom homebrewed firmwares was brought to us by XiaoFeiChong. This version was a recompiled M33 firmware, but XiaoFeiChong’s version doesn’t support backups, including ISOs or CSOs. Still, this is a great piece of firmware if you’re looking to get into CFW.

The second homebrewed firmware came from a group named Team Omega. Like in XiaoFeiChong’s version, there’s no support for back-ups. However, the group claims some “new support for PSX…

Check out PSPVC v3.42, which just dropped today from its developer, Nick Swardh. For those of you who are new to this clutch piece of home-cooked goodness, this is the PSP Video Converter that’s been circulating heavily on the boards. Here’s the changelog, which is as straightforward as they get:

In some exciting news from the homebrew scene, a developer named pegasus2000 is moving forward with a project known as Nanodesktop Blind Assistant. This cutting-edge piece of software will assist the vision-impaired with a number of functions.

Although there’s no new official release, pegasus2000 has offered up some proof of concept videos which detail some of the functionality of the software. Blind Assistant will allegedly handle voice recognition in the new core release of CFW0005. Later versions may include a vocal e-mail client, a color scanner, and a face recognition function.

Good news for you PSP freaks who just can’t get enough of your XMB themes. XMB Multi Customizer is cooked up right from someone’s own nerdy basement, and it actually looks pretty good. The interface makes sense on first use and has a ton of options for maximizing the customization of the XMB.

There’s also support for the custom firmware, dropped by Dark AleX (5.00 M33). If you make themes with the XMB Multi Customizer, they might not work with 5.02GEN-A, so make sure you grab the CTF converter from legendary homebrew developer Miriam. We’ve got it right here:
