In a much-anticipated update to the unfolding GripShift exploit drama that’s been swarming the underground, Miriam has issued a to-the-point response to Dark AleX, who dropped a bunch of allegations on top of Miriam yesterday.

Here’s a log of Miriam’s response to Dark AleX, originally posted in the DAX forums:

I’m not going to classify Dark_AleX as a liar as none of you will believe me, so I will try to explain a scenario that could have been a reason for this false accusation. I guess I have some explaining to do after Alek was so nice (cough) to call me by…

Word on the grapevine from earlier today says that credit was given for the latest homebrew enabler created using the GripShift exploit to the wrong person – on purpose.

A developer known as Miriam took credit for the homebrew enabler, but Dark AleX, the original innovator of the GripShift exploit itself, announced that the exploit relied on a leak from Team C+D, and that the credit duly belongs to joek.

Here’s an except from Dark AleX’s posting on this matter:

This is about this.

There’s also support for the custom firmware, dropped by Dark AleX (5.00 M33). If you make themes with the XMB Multi Customizer, they might not work with 5.02GEN-A, so make sure you grab the CTF converter from legendary homebrew developer Miriam. We’ve got it right here:

More news for those of you following the GripShift exploit. The homebrew underground has been looking hard for ways to increase the versatility of the newly-discovered exploit, and one team just stumbled across some real treasure. The group PSPGEN have developed a Homebrew Enabler out of the exploit that’s centered around the European version of GripShift. The HEN allows for both kernel mode and user mode homebrew.

Naturally, Sony is going to be working their corporate butts off to clog this exploit, but the underground has really been in a frenzy since the whole GripShift fiasco got started, so who knows…

Check out this awesome new homebrew application from the code ninja whose undecipherable alias is daaa57150. This is another similar-to-Tetris game where you’ve gotta clear out stacks of lines. This is a musical game, too, so you’ll be jamming along to exploding blocks and all of that neat stuff. There’s also a combo system, as described here:

  • the classical : blocks explode, those above fall and connect, combo!
  • the explosion : the blocks take some time to explode and during this moment you can add other blocks to make more combos
  • the cooldown : after an explosion, a small amount of time is…
