Gran Turismo For PSP Now Available At Target

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Gran Turismo PSP spotted at Target

If you’re waiting for the release and availability of the Gran Turismo for PSP, here is your chance to get your hands on the real action. Target store has just put on their selves a copy of the Gran Turismo for PSP so if you’re lucky and quick enough, you might be able to play it in a few short hours.

As early as today, the Gran Turismo is available at Target stores for $39.99. The game is supposed to be released only on October 1, but it seems that Target got to it first before any other major game stores out there. I am not sure what Target store the picture was taken but judging solely from this one little photo, it looks amazingly real. That means we can now play the popular car race game as soon as we rush to the nearest Target store.

I’m still in awe with the latest screencaps I have seen of the Gran Turismo but knowing that it can now be purchased must have brought joy to hundreds out there waiting for the official release of Gran Turismo.

PSP Go’s Launch Will Be Highlighted With 16,000 Downloadable Content

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Sony: PSP Go will have 16,000 pieces of downloadable content at launch

For those of you waiting for the release of the PSP Go this October 1, hold on to your seat for this exciting news. When PSP Go launches on October 1 it will come with 16,000 downloadable content, so you can choose at your heart’s desire what games and applications you want for your new toy.

Of course, the figure is not at all new content. Some of those counted are already available for download on the Playstation Network. Here’s a breakdown of what you can get come October 1:

225 downloadable games (full PSP titles, PSN exclusives, UMD legacy titles and Minis)

2,300 movies

13,300 TV episodes

And because retailers are criticizing Sony PSP Go’s download-only model, Sony will be letting retailers sell Playstation Network Game Cards, which will contain voucher codes that will allow you to download a game for your PSP Go. Voucher-friendly games include Gran Turismo, Patapon 2, Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus.

Bleach Soul Carnival 2 Comes Out With New Scans And Video

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

SCEJ confirms Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 for Winter release; new scans, video

Thanks to the confirmation by SCEJ themselves, we can run down the street naked and cry “Eureka!” That’s a bit of an exaggeration but you get my point. We can officially celebrate the coming of Bleach Soul Carnival 2 to the PSP.

However, if you’re wanting for more details regarding this game, I am afraid I cannot give you that. In that regard, its makers have remained mum about more information and leaks. There are, however, a few scans that we have managed to steal, and it shows some great kickass moves and bigger enemies. The official website of Bleach Soul Carnival 2 has also gone live, so you can head over there and check out what’s in store for you.

The Bleach Soul Carnival 2 is scheduled for a release this winter as Sony’s latest PSP offering also hit the latest issue of Shonen Jump.

MGS Peace Walker TGS 09 Demo Explained By Konami

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Konami details MGS: Peace Walker TGS 09 demo

Kojima Production has just detailed the demo version of MGS: Peace Walker they will be playing at the coming TGS 09. So for those of you who are waiting for a bit of a news regarding the playable version, here is your chance to get to know more about the game.

There are two ways to play the demo, according to Kojima. You can line up and get a copy of the demo version at the TGS, or you can download the playable demo from the Demo Download Areas.

The version in the Demo Play Area is different, however, because it contains one extra mission that is not included in the downloadable demo. Those who will be playing the demo will also get a t-shirt, special badge, and a TGS-exclusive PSP button attachment.

Here are more details:

Tutorial/Opening (1 Player) – This mission includes the introduction of the story, the explanation of the control schematics, and a training session. Recommend for first-time players.

Neutralize the Stronghold (1 – 2 Players) – This is a sneaking mission in which the player must neutralize a base that is under enemy control. For intermediate players.

Infiltrate the Mountain Facility (1 – 2 Players) – This is a sneaking mission in which the player must infiltrate an enemy facility that is located in a mountainous region. For intermediate players.

Tank Battle (1 – 4 Players) – This mission’s goal is the disarmament of the enemy tank and reinforcements. For advanced players.

The downloadable version will also not include the “Infiltrate the Mountain Facility” mission. Those who will download it must also make sure that their PC or laptop has 6.00 firmware and 200MB free space in their memory sticks.

Bling Faceplate For Psp 3000

Bored with your usual PSP look? I mean, black seems to be “in” these days, but there’s still no comparison if you can get your PSPs to look funky and cool. With the XCM Bling Faceplates, you will be able to convert your PSP into an ordinary-looking console into something that will match your outfit, style, and even your mood.

The XCM Bling Faceplate is a complete customization kit for your PSP. Available in red, blue, green and violet. The XCM Bling Faceplates, however, is only compatible with the 3000 series (sorry for those who owns a PSP 1000 or 2000). The kit includes all buttons and tools required for installation, and even protects your PSP screen with the built-in protector.

Let’s just hope that this will soon be available for other PSP versions.

PSP Mario Map Editor Released

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

PSP homebrew: PSP Mario map editor released

I remember the last time I played Mario in my beloved Nintendo–that was about a decade ago. And now here we are in the age of PSPs and yet no one from the original creators of Mario has the gall to make a PSP version of this game.

But thanks to homebrew coders, we now have Mario on our hands. Dan369 just released the map editor of his brew–Mario for PSP. The editor is fairly simple to use, and is straightforward. It will feature collision tiles, normal tiles and enemies. Note that the editor is in Hm7, so for those of you who are using PGE better find a way to manuever into an Hm7.

As usual, the coder specifically mentioned to browse through the README file first before tinkering with anything in the brew.

Need For Speed Shift: Built For Racers By Racers

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Need for Speed Shift

Aside from the Tekken series, there’s only one game in the world of PSP that I cannot bear not to play–Need For Speed (whatever version is available at the moment). And now, I’m gearing up for another great release from the makers of the popular car race game as they unveiled Need For Speed Shift.

Need For Speed Shift is described as a game “built by racers for racers.” Its intense and almost authentic driving experience replicates what it’s truly like to be out there in the lanes, competing for that one final lap. New features include realistic first-person cockpit view camera and all-new crash car mechanic.

You can now get your hands on this new game as Nasdaq just released Need For Speed Shift today.

Makers Explain 6.00 MAC-B Beta

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Mack explains 6.00 MAC-B beta with a video

The release of the new firmware 6.00 a couple of weeks ago caused a foreseen amount of interest in the PSP industry. Can you imagine what we can make of our own homebrew games if we managed to make it all compatible with a 6.00 firmware? The possibilities are endless, and so Matt and Jack–fondly called Mack–announced that they are tinkering with making the 6.00 compatible with MAC.

But because of speculations on the availability of this new MAC-B firmware, Mack decided to post a video explaining the details of their creation, and promising that it will be available for download in the future. I’m not going to summarize in here what the two guys explained since I may get some facts wrong, so I hope you will be patient enough to sit through in Mack’s explanation.

Personally, I believe that Mack is into something real and achievable as long as we give them enough space and time to do their work. Remember that this will be a benefit for all of us waiting for the beta version of 6.00 MAC-B.
