Improvements For NBA Live 2010 Promised By Producers

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Producer promises improvements for NBA Live 2010

The producer of the popular franchise NBA Live promises to have major improvement in the 2010 version of the basketball game. Sean O’Brien in his EA Sports blog said that NBA Live 2010 needs much improvement to catch up with 2k Sports.

O’Brien said that Live 2010 is doing much better in its performance compared with Live 2009. With two months still to go before it releases, O’Brien said that the revamped Live 2010 is not just “marketing speak” but would really feature improvements in the game like nothing we have ever seen before.

There will be two features to be implemented in the Live 2010—the Synergy Sports and Dynamic DNA. Through this, Electronic Arts will be updating player attributes, trends and other cariable across the entire season.

Hopefully, aside from the improvements in settings and controls, I wish EA could also develop Live 2010’s gameplay, which is really the most important aspect of all.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in PSN And XBL

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 coming to PSN and XBL in late July

Amid anticipation of when Capcom will finally announce the date for the release of the new Marvel vs. Capcom 2, it finally dated the new game for the PSN and XBL.

Earlier, it has been reported that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will come out on June 29 based on the projection made after Marvel Entertainment’s first quarter financial report. Capcom, however, clarified that the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will be released by late July.

In their company’s Twitter account, they confirmed that: “MvC2 is not actually coming out on June 29, sorry guys. Not sure where that rumor came from, but it’s going to be closer to the end of July.”

Sorry to say that it would still take a month before we enjoy this new game from Capcom and Marvel. But with the surely famous beat ‘em up games produced by these two companies before, I’m sure the wait will be all worth it.

New Gran Turismo For PSP Screencaps

Gran Turismo PSP looking gorgeous in new screenshots

I’ve always been a fan of car-race games. May they be Need For Speed or Gran Turismo (or even those simple, classic one in the old GameBoy), I always have this thing for any vehicle that moves… and I want them fast, too.

These screenshots of the Gran Turismo are not from the actual game itself (although those that have been previously released are awesome, to say the least); rather, some site believes these are from the cutscenes of the Gran Turismo for the Playstation Portable.

There’s some clean-cut graphics going on there, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be blown away once this is released to the market.

Gran Turismo PSP will launch on October 1 for the PSP Go. But fret not, I believe the creators of Gran Turismo will soon be working out on the different compatibility formats of the game for each version of the popular handheld console.

Sony Ericsson’s Satio Phone Can Play PSP Games

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Recently, Sony Ericsson released the Aino phone where it enables the user to synchronized his PS3-stored media with the Ericsson phone. Now, Sony has just unraveled its new creation with the Satio phone.

This mobile phone can actually process Playstation games, enabling the user to play his favorite games in his own handheld mobile device. What a riot this could make! Here’s what Sony Ericsson’s Corporate Vice President Hirokazu Ishizuka has to say about the Satio: “I think we are very confident of our own solution–entertainment unlimited. Not only music entertainment experience but also imaging, cyber-shot technology and we have a 12.1 megapixels camera. On top of that, you can enjoy your PlayStation games so therefore this product is so powerful and we are very confident of this product’s success.”

I don’t have the list yet of what games we can play with the Satio. Reports, however, are putting Asphalt Road and Prince of Persia to the list. Both will be in HD format.

Expected to be released this coming fall, the Satio’s content library—downloadable games, movies, music, videos and applications—will only be available for the Asia Pacific region. No price has been announced yet for the Sony Ericsson Satio, but I sense an amount that will burn a hole in your pockets.

Exclusive Video Game Trailer Of Transformer: Revenge Of The Fallen

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

In about two days, we would again be captivated by the awesome spectacle of fighting robots—the Decepticons and Autobots. The theatrical release of the new Transformers movie, the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is being widely anticipated by moviegoers all over the world. The sequel to Michael Bay’s blockbuster will surely captivate the young and old alike.

But what about gamers? What are we to do with a Transformers movie if we cannot control these robots? The new Transformers video game (whose features are exactly taken from the soon-to-be-released movie) will also make waves in the coming days. The new game will be released in multiplatform for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2 and your old reliable PC.

What I find deplorable about multiplatform releases is that often than not the graphic standards of these releases will be sacrificed because of the platforms they are supposed to work in. Activision, however, seems to have done something good with this release because you cannot notice how the game is trying to fit in all types of video graphics formats.

Price has not been announced for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen but watch out soon… it will be released June 23. Stay tuned.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Releases Tutorial Video

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

The makers of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Capcom, have just released a new tutorial video. Compared with the previously released videos, this one deals with quests and how you can tackle all of them. It also gives an overview summary of all the quests, which both the village elder and the gathering hall give out.

There are more features that the tutorial video deals with. Multiplayer hunts are briefly discussed. Although nothing is new for old gamers of this series, this is definitely a must-see for all those who would like to play the game for the first time. Beginners would find this really useful and helpful, especially regarding how they will finish the quests, which is ultimately the game’s main goal.

The video also improves the Encyclopedia Gigantica included in the game.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite will be released on June 23 so don’t forget to mark your dates.

Four New Character For Ys 7

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

There are four new protagonists/antagonists to the roster of characters Ys 7 has made available.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Maya is the mute little girl who lost her family during the war, and was taken care of by Tia. Her muteness came from the shock and trauma of the war. Maya uses sign language to communicate.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Huet is described as the spirit with “quirky personality and innocence.” Her ability is to control fire.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Serra is the spirit that freely manipulates lightning.

Four new characters introduced for Ys 7

Mixer, on the other hand, controls the element of water.

I’m still not sure what roles these new characters are going to play in Ys 7, but I’m pretty sure they’ll add more color and depth to the characters we love so much; not to mention how they’ll going to rack the world of Ys and its inhabitants.

Screencaps For Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 Revealed by Japanese Magazine

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Shonen Jump reveals first screens for Bleach: Soul Carnival 2

The first full view of the screencaps of Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 was finally revealed by popular Japanese gaming magazine, the Shonen Jump. The Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 is a very cool treat for the patrons of the first version of this game.

Especially made for the Playstation Portable (and I bet you can play it from its 1000 version up to 3000), the Bleach: Soul Carnival 2’s screencaps let you take a peek at what you may be waiting for release. Although those who have played Bleach: Heat The Soul 6 is mighty luckier because a demo version of the Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 was provided with side-scrolling action to boot, we’re still lucky enough to have a look at the new scans for the Soul Carnival 2.

There’s no release date yet as to when the Japanese would finally get to enjoy this game, and no word too if they’ll ever bring this to the West. But, let’s wait and see where the creators of this game will take us. Japanese gaming companies have provided us folks with plenty of games to enjoy anyway.

PSP Go’s Battery Not Better Than The PSP 3000

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

PSP Go Battery Life A Bit Less Than PSP-3000

Just when you thought everything was fine and dandy about one piece of machine, you found out it’s not so fine after all.

My current PSP 3000 does not last me more than a couple or more of hours before it runs out of battery. So, when the PSP Go was introduced during the E3 Fest, I really thought that a new handset has finally come to save us PSP users from recharging nonstop our handheld consoles.

But alas, news have broken out that the new PSP Go doesn’t even last as the PSP 3000. The European Playstation Blog recently pointed out that the PSP Go can last for only about three to six hours of gaming experience; while video watching lasts approximately three to five hours.

On the other hand, the PSP 3000 can last for about four to six hours of game time and four to five hours of UMD videos.

Sure, that’s only an hour of difference but a lot can happen within an hour right? You can still win over your opponent and post a record-breaking win at Need For Speed.
