Check out this modded-up PS3, which someone designed around the terrifying antagonist of the “Alien” series of films. We haven’t got many details as to how the person responsible for this piece of art went about constructing the modification, but it looks like a lot of time was spent in planning, and the execution looks absolutely meticulous.

The original “Alien” movie was directed by Ridley Scott and starred Sigourney Weaver. It was released in 1979 and introduced the world to an awesome, acid-dripping, totally evil alien that implants its spawn in the chests of humans. That alien was based on a…

Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey writes that “recent channel checks indicate increased speculation for a PS3 price cut announcement from Sony in the next couple of days.”

Sony is scheduled to meet with retailers this week at the annual Destination PlayStation conference. Says Mike Hickey, “We think the company needs to reduce the current price by $100 to effectively restart unit velocity at retail.”

He continues further:

“We are also hearing continued speculation that Sony is working on a non-Blu-ray PS3 console, which could enable them to make the aforementioned hardware price reduction. We believe the market is expecting a PS3 price cut…

Those of you lucky enough to own a PS3 along with your PSP will be pleased to know that the popular PopCap puzzle game, Zuma, is set to arrive on the PSN today. The annoying little time stealer seems to be coming in with a facelift that’s intended to take advantage of the PS3’s hardware, including its Dolby 5.1 surround sound. It’ll also have PSP remote play, so you’ll be able to get your small screen in on the action, too.

In the game of Zuma, you’ve got to eliminate all of the balls that are rolling around the screen before…

Just because this forthcoming title is so fascinating, we’re throwing it up to your attention, despite its release being exclusively for the PS3. Its own creators can’t really put into words what the nature of the game is – Noby Noby Boy is sort of an abstract, participation-based persistent Universe whose purpose is to house its ever-growing protagonists, known as Boy and Girl. Perhaps its closest analog would be Katmari Damacy, which was created by the same developer, Keita Takahashi of Namco Bandai.

In Noby Noby Boy, players take control of a Lego-man like, stretchable character, who grows as it’s pulled…

Check out the newest addition to the Lumines series if you’re a fan of the tune-based brain-cruncher for the PSP. This time, it’s on the PS3, it looks great, and its audio is simply terrific.

Gameplay, as with the other titles in the series, is straightforward: mash four or more blocks of the same color together and they’ll disappear. Everything is synchronized with the background music. Stay alive and keep playing, and you’ll discover why you love to waste time making shapes disappear.

There’s a couple of modes available for your puzzle-loving pleasure. There’s also an awesome Sequencer mode built into the…
