Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G Hits Three Million Mark In Japan

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G ships over 3 million units in Japan

Capcom’s hit title Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, also known as Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, has shipped over 3,000,000 units in Japan. The third installment in the PSP Monster Hunter series was launched on March 27, 2008 in Japan. It won the Double Platinum Prize at the 2008 PlayStation Awards, meaning that the game sold somewhere between two and three million units at the time.

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G sold 690,000 copies on its first day on the shelves and moved 1.5 million titles by the end of its first week. The Capcom US blog even made a coy statement that the game lowered Japan’s national productivity during the day.

Undoubtedly, the release of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G in other global turfs (including the U.S. and Europe) will take its total sales to new heights. We’re excited for a forthcoming drop of the game stateside, and can’t wait to take it for a spin ourselves.

In case you just tuned in, this renowned game from Atlus was originally cooked up for the PlayStation One, enjoyed massive popularity, begat a number of successor titles, and finally got picked up again for a major overhaul and brand new re-release on the small screen. Dragonball Evolution: A perfect action-packed game

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

What does a remake of an action packed movie to a video game mean? Nothing else than an edge-of-the-seat stuff on the PSP console, I guess. Dragonball Evolution does no injustice to the movie, and with its bone jarring fights and above-the-world thrills and action sequences, the game promises to be a thriller to the core.

I can’t wait to lay my hands on the console when this game comes through. More than anything, the fact that I would be battling against some of my favorite characters to take control over the Dragon balls, intrigues me. Now, for the action bit – The action sequences promise to leave you with numb hands, and possibly, sleepless nights. The fights with the Evolution game are not gory at all, so the chances of you shrieking out loud may be remote.

What does it take for a powerful action-packed game to deliver an impact? Well, if you wish to know the answer, play the Dragonball Evolution. I have not played it as yet, but on loose reports I get from my gamer friends, this one seems to be made for action buffs like us. Gear up, and get ready to play one of the best action-packed games on the PSP console.

Watch out – Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is coming soon

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

And you do not need to go anywhere to get absorbed in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, an action packed and monstrous game! This game is about to be released for DS and PSP by the summer. Surely, the staff at Activision will be working overtime to get final glitches sorted out. Activision has taken the responsibility for the release of this game on DS.

Is the game generating enough press already or what? Did we hear people say that it is going to be the climax of the war going on between the Autobots and the Deceptions? And what better setting than the Pyramid of Giza to give finishing touches to the Transformer series! This game has indeed been very popular with people for some time now.

I am all ready to have a go on this game, when it comes through. I know what to do with the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Guess it is time for me to sip on some coffee and prepare my point-scoring plan for the game.

I hear there will be two versions of the game. Any bonus points for playing the bad campaigns? Welcome the new characters to the climax version of the game – The Devastator and the Fallen. Surely, this game is going to be edge-of-the-seat stuff.

New PSP Colors on the anvil – From Sony!

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

PSP to Come in New, Festive "Carnival Colors"

Just in is a report from Sony offices that they would be launching a new set of PSP Colors. It is a shame that they will be coming only to Europe. Well, there are a lot of gamers out here in the US, who seem to have got bored with the age-old, Machiavelli type PSP Consoles anyways. What is coming through is the fact that these devices are really the same, with the only change in the hues of the case.

Does it matter? Heck it does! And why should Europe get the first attention. My friend tells me that it is a strategic decision by Sony. Well, it may be, but I don’t mind sailing across the Atlantic to get a feel of these colors first hand. It has been quite some time that I have put my passport to use, so this could really be it. Traveling to the Europe to catch all the latest PSP excitement is surely going to be fun.

I hear that the new colors are going to be Mystic Silver, Piano Black, Vibrant Red, and Pearl White. Now that is what you call – A variation! I can’t wait for the release dates to be out. I need to book my tickets. Already am so excited, am I not?

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Persona And Growlanser To PSP

In case you were wondering what was going on with the Persona series, here’s what’s up: Instead of just getting a convenient port-over, it’s instead being entirely overhauled for a fresh drop on the PlayStation Portable. This is some sizzling stuff, folks.

The latest Famitsu spells out that the new release of the original PlayStation One hit will include tons of new videos from Kamikaze Douga, three difficulty settings, loads of new enemies, and additional save points.

Growlanser, which dropped on the PlayStation One in Japan about a decade back, is set to come thundering in for the PSP as well. Like its sibling title, Growlanser will feature all-new characters and some tweaks to its combat engine. Japan should expect to get hit in the face with this one on May 14.

Atlus Bringing Persona And Growlanser To PSP

We’re not sure about releases in the other global turf, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground for the tell-tale signs of an incoming drop. Stay tuned, gentle readers. We won’t let you down.
