Check out the Final Burn Alpha Emulator if you’re fun of classic arcade games. This little piece of software handles emulation for MC680000 and Z/80-based arcade games. Titles from PGM, Cave, CPS1/2/3, Seta, Sega and Konami should now run with ease. You’ll have to pick up ROMs for this one, but you shouldn’t have any trouble at all finding them on the Internet.

This is a real find for gamers whose sensibilities hearken back to good ol’ days of pounding keys and jumping little anime toons around the screen, looking for megahit combos and the sweet, 16-bit shriek of victory. As always, expect the emulator to continue to improve in quality, error handling, and compatibility as the version number gets bigger. There’s an already large user community surrounding this application, and it’s going to continue to get bigger.
