The PSP version of the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will be requiring the custom firmware 5.55 to work. So those who are planning on getting this game, make sure yo have downloaded first the PSP firmware 5.55. Get ahead before shelling out bucks for it. But don’t worry for those of you who failed to download it during the firmware’s release, the download pack for G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will include all needed applications and firmwares. No hassle.
Although some bloggers are doubting whether or not the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will be released in Sony’s website of Network Update. And much like IdolM@aster, some are expecting that there will come a time that the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will be hacked or bypassed so that it won’t require the firmware 5.55 anymore.
The release of the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra in theaters early this week is befitting for the release also of its PSP version, which is soon to come. All needed information are, of course, expected to be inside the pack.

Why do you keep calling all firmwares CUSTOM? UMD requires 5.55 firmware which is OFFICIAL (OFW). CFW are CUSTOM firmwares and are the hacked ones, I’m sure you know that. So please stop saying CUSTOM CUSTOM CUSTOM. Thanks
StarWars Clone Wars Republic Heros is also another game that also may require the 5.50 firmware as I cannot get it to load as well as GI JOE. MY firmware is 5.00 M33-6
No need for the 5.55 OFW. I’ve installed CFW 5.50 Gen C. and G.I. Joe, The Rise of the Cobra worked on my PSP Phat.
