Portable PSP. Free for Batelco customers

Here’s a snippet from the Middle East that’ll make the rest of the global turf a bit jealous. Batelco, the United Arab Emirate’s leading internet service provider, is giving away a Sony PlayStation Portable to any new subscribers. They’ll even give it to current subscribers who decide to upgrade their service package. Here’s a quote from the Batelco Media and Government Relations General Manager, Ahmed Al Janahi:

‘We are continually looking for new and exciting ways to reward our customers. By offering a high value gift such as the PSP which is the ultimate hand held multimedia & gaming system that plays games, videos and music and also stores photos, we believe this promotion will be very popular.’

We wouldn’t mind seeing an offer like that in the western hemisphere. We’d think about bumping up our bandwidth for a free PSP. Sounds fair to us.
