Games- The tip for getting games, especially for PSP, is what you think you would play over and over and over again. The replay value increases if it has online capability. My favorites games for the PSP are SOCOM: Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 2, Daxter, Ratchet and Clank size matters, Star Wars Battlefront II, Midnight club, and Either Grand Theft Autos.
Video- Having videos on your PSP really makes a difference on road trips. There are free programs on the Internet for converting videos into PSP forms, for example Orbit .
Music- Unless you have a Ipod, the PSP is also good for just listening to music.
Pictures- Showing pictures on your PSP to your friends, and you can also set it as your background.
Internet- The PSP internet is fun when you don’t want to carry your laptop around. It can’t support large sums flash, so no videos, no games, no porn (unless its pictures:)

Sony has just released their new 6.10 firmware that is aimed towards new PSP Go users. In preparation for the launch of the new PSP Go, this is as best as Sony can give us who are anticipating the things we can do with the new PSP.
The firmware, which is now available here for download, is a must for new PSP Go owners so that they can make sure that their PSPs will be compatible with MediaGo and all the other PSP titles.
Firmware 6.10 will be compatible also with the SensMe application–a new music app that uses Sony’s 12-tone analysis technology to evaluate music tracks that have been imported from Media Go on your PC to your PSP. The app then automatically categorizes the tracks into 12 channels such as “Relax” or “Newly Added.”

The PSP version of the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will be requiring the custom firmware 5.55 to work. So those who are planning on getting this game, make sure yo have downloaded first the PSP firmware 5.55. Get ahead before shelling out bucks for it. But don’t worry for those of you who failed to download it during the firmware’s release, the download pack for G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will include all needed applications and firmwares. No hassle.
Although some bloggers are doubting whether or not the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will be released in Sony’s website of Network Update. And much like IdolM@aster, some are expecting that there will come a time that the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra will be hacked or bypassed so that it won’t require the firmware 5.55 anymore.
The release of the G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra in theaters early this week is befitting for the release also of its PSP version, which is soon to come. All needed information are, of course, expected to be inside the pack.

This homebrew application is a custom firmware plugin for M33 that lets you assign key combinations to launch applications from your XMB. It configures shortcuts.conf so you can assign almost all your homebrew applications, making it easy for you to launch them once you need them.
It handles ISO/CSO games or UMD games and even pops games to any combinations you choose. From the XMB, you can enter those combinations and trigger the application to start. There’ll be no need to navigate through the XMB.
Here’s how to install this plugin:
1. Download the package
2. Extract them to your ms0:/seplugins folder
3. Read the notes in shortcuts.conf file (this is very important otherwise you will not get it to work if not configured correctly) and configure/assign keys to your apps/games.
4. Put this like in your vsh.txt ms0:/seplugins/homebrew_shortcuts.prx 1
5. Push the buttons and watch your homebrew run
Just like the shortcut buttons in your laptops and mobile phones, this plugin would make navigating through your applications easier.

Homebrew coder bosshunter released this iR patch for all custom firmware enablers out there. This is a patch that facilitates ISO/PXS support, and also improved the iR Shell stability (no more annoying bugs). But first, according to the maker, you have to take note of these following things:
1. The full extent of this patch only works on firmware 5.03 with CFWE 3.50 and below. CFWE 3.60 fails loading PSX titles while ISOs continue working just fine. So use accordingly.
2. Use at your own risk; this patch touches a file in flash0 that’s installed by CFWE.
3. If something goes wrong while the PRX patches the necessary files, reinstall CFWE and try again.
Here’s how to use the iR Shell Patch:
1. Make sure you have:
- iR Shell 5.0 installed;
- A fresh install of CFWE;
- The plugins loaded by game.txt are disabled;
- Replaced the IRSHELL folder with the one provided.
2. Run iR Shell.
3. Open Directory View and go to ms0:/IRSHELL/PATCH/5.03/.
4. Run btcnfpatch.prx.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions.
6. Wait a few seconds. You should see the screenshot above if it’s successful.
7. Re-enable your game.txt plugins.
And for those who are using custom firmware 5.50 GEN-A, you can also expect a patch to be released soon. But so far, we have this quite unique patch for the PSP’s other CFWEnablers so grab the chance to download it and see how it magically transform your handhelds.

First of, I’m quite obligated to tell you that this is still not compatible with the PSP Fat because of memory issues. So, if you’re hoping to install this in PSP 1000, I’m telling you right now that you can’t.
Xenogears and Becus25—the makers of the ever popular custom firmware enabler—has a new update for their now famous application. This allows you to enable features of the M33 custom firmware on PSP 2000 and PSP 3000 through the ChickHEN firmware 5.03.
Here’s the changelog for the new version:
- Added option Free UMD Region
- Translation in French
- Fixato a bug related to updating network
- Improved patch to the version of system
- Improved flashing system of Custom Firmware
- Improved the code of the program
- Improved system of flashing files of POPS
- Verify the SHA1 of the files that are installed
- Reduced the file size EBOOT.pbp
This update really has more in store for us than the previously released versions. Aside from the fact that they still cannot find a way to make CFWEnabler compatible with the PSP Fat, I think having regular updates from Xenogears and Becus25 helps us update ourselves in what could possibly be the future of CFWEnabler in PSP 1000.

Recently, Sony released a Playstation Portable firmware update 5.51. And now, Miche2245, a German developer discovered a Game Save Vulnerability in the PSP firmware 5.50.
This firmware currently works for the Japanese version of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and the English version of Need For Speed: Underground Work. But I’m sure in the coming days, there’ll be more games compatible with this firmware. The ability to save the game is widely needed especially for gamers who always forget to pack some extra power in their batteries.
Meanwhile, the exploit you will find in the package is for the Monster Hunter Freedom 2. After executing using the saved game, you can now make use of the ChickHen, a homebrew enabler, under the PSP firmware 5.50.
There’s a more detailed instructions on the readme file included in the download, so I suggest you take a good long look on it before you install this firmware.
