To top of Sony’s 5.03 beat down recently, another security-shattering blow is delivered by Xenogears and Becus25 through the new custom firmware enabler. The CFWenabler version 3.01 contains new codes to support the PSP 3000. It also enables most, if not all, features of CFW M33 on your PSP consoles.

But remember you’re going to need ChickHEN R2 as well so download both plugins below.

The CFWEnabler 3.01 has these changes:

  • PSP 3000 is now supported.

  • Network update option added (Server Needed).
  • Official network update blocking option.

In the past, owners of the Playstation Portable 2 and 3 would risk bricking their handheld consoles if they board it with CTF themes. But thank to Total_Noob’s unofficial version of Poison’s CXMB for Custom Firmware 5.03 Gen-A, PSP 2 and 3 users can now load CTF-based themes in their consoles and enjoy the different interfaces of a CTF theme.

Get those Playstation Portable 3000 fired up with this new custom firmware, the CFW 5.03GEN-A For HEN. Its creator promised that it is entirely compatible with the OFW 5.03 and would work with both the Slim and 3000 version “without exception.”

Features:

Bug Fix Update On Custom Firmware Enabler 2.51 And Vice 2.1.21

The latest custom firmware enabler was released by Xenogears and Becus25, or Akop’s C64 emulator, just a week ago but already there have been some comments from those who downloaded it that there’s something seriously whack about the new custom firmware enabler.

So here, through the Vice PSP 2.1.21, the bug fix updates can be downloaded.

CFW Enabler v2.51 (translated):

  • Fixed bug that prevented either activate the plugins.

VICE PSP v2.1.21:

  • Saving state while in NTSC mode resulted in a crash
  • An extra line from the screen border appeared while in NTSC mode

This is, as they say, the icing on top of the cake. And if it works, my kid cousin would probably go nuts and kiss my feet for discovering this trick. Dark_AleX has just released the PspStates for custom firmware 5.00 M33, which allows you to save everything—exact whereabouts, stages, high score, clothes, money, guns, accessories, etc—save it and you’ll find it the next day exactly as how you saved it. Playing games on a PSP console has never been that challenging, yet for some people, this seems to even more difficult than catching an Anaconda! For all of them, here is a quick fix. With the latest PS One emulator released for Firmware 5.0 M33-2, you cannot claim of PSP being an insurmountable task.

Hot on the heels of the latest official PSP Firmware release from Sony, v5.03, comes Dark AleX’s latest custom firmware update. The most current version is now M33-6, which came just minutes after the release of M33-5. XiaoFeiChong And Team Omega Cook Up Custom Firmware 5.02

The last official release of PSP firmware was at the end of November 2008, and since then two separate custom firmware versions of 5.02 have appeared on the Internet.

One of the custom homebrewed firmwares was brought to us by XiaoFeiChong. This version was a recompiled M33 firmware, but XiaoFeiChong’s version doesn’t support backups, including ISOs or CSOs. Still, this is a great piece of firmware if you’re looking to get into CFW.
