Clickr On Demo Version For PSP

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Clickr vDemo PSP

Want to practice your child’s mathematical skills? Then better if you install this game in his / her Playstation Portable to evaluate the development in his counting.

Clickr, which is currently on demo version, is a pretty simple game where all you have to do is count the cars that passes by. If you count them right, you’ll automatically be taken to the next level. If you don’t get the number right, you will have to restart the level. But because this is only the demo version, there are only three levels available for this game right now.

Hopefully, if the coder gets a good response for this, there will be a full version of the game.

Project14Xa And ProjectResistance: All-New PSP Themes

PSP Themes: Project14Xa & ProjectResistance

Homebrew coder PwnedTyler has issued two new themes for us–the Project14Xa And ProjectResistance. Both are in the format of CTF for 5.50, so I’m hoping we won’t have that much problem with installing and using it.

Project14Xa features a never-before-seen custom opening plugin, edited black PSN background, custom Hack ‘n Slash gameboot (courtesy of highboy), different keyboard clicks and a cool XMB wave.

Meanwhile, ProjectResistance has invisible icons with skull focus, invisible speaker bar and icon, custom opening plugin, custom gameboot and different XMB wave. It, however, has no PSP logo during gameboot.

So there you are, two themese for you to choose from. As usual, see first the readme file before installing such, and make sure you’ve got the right amount of memory and specs to make these themes work.

Joyau v0.8 Interpreter Updated

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

For anyone coding in the ruby train, homebrew coder Kode has compiled the Joyau version 0.8 EBOOT. This is especially made for those who are not industrious enough to create their own sources. And of course, using something off the collection rack of seasoned coders is safer in terms of encoding and interpreting.

Joyau is a Ruby interpreter for the Playstation Portable, which is slightly similar to the Lua you’ll code in Ruby. The EBOOT acts as the script interpreter.

As you can seriously jeopardize all these ruby interpreting when not done properly here are the things you need to now about the Joyau v0.8:

* Copy the “script.rb” file (your Ruby code) into the same directory as the Joyau EBOOT.
* The Joyau EBOOT is compiled with PSP_FW_VERSION = 371.
* Try LEDA or Time Machine if you’re experiencing problems with executing the EBOOT.

This need-to-knows are, of course, published during the first release of the Joyau ruby interpreter, so be careful since there are new fixes in this update.

CTF Tool GUI v2 Enables You To Create Your Own CTF Themes

CTF Tool GUI v2 Released: Convert CTF Themes

With the release of patpat’s CTF Tool GUI v2, it will now enable you to convert CTF 5.00 theme to 5.50. The CTF theme that the tester tried to convert using the CTF Tool GUI v2 is Nothingface420’s Grand Theft Auto IV for 5.00.

Homebrew coder Patpat says that the conversion process from 5.00 to 5.50 is beta may not always work. This may also not work with all Playstation Portable versions since the test was done on a PSP Slim (PSP 2000) running in 5.50 GEN-B. And since this is only in its beta form, there might also be a couple of bugs when installing so be sure you follow the process perfectly.

Some said, however, that CXMB for 5.50 GEN plug-in doesn’t work with 5.50 GEN-B firmware, “rendering this useless.” But tests said it does, so maybe it depends actually on the CTF themes you are going to convert, and not on the firmwares installed in your PSPs.

Custom Firmware Enabler v3.60 For PSP 2000 And 3000

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Custom Firmware Enabler v3.60

First of, I’m quite obligated to tell you that this is still not compatible with the PSP Fat because of memory issues. So, if you’re hoping to install this in PSP 1000, I’m telling you right now that you can’t.

Xenogears and Becus25—the makers of the ever popular custom firmware enabler—has a new update for their now famous application. This allows you to enable features of the M33 custom firmware on PSP 2000 and PSP 3000 through the ChickHEN firmware 5.03.

Here’s the changelog for the new version:

- Added option Free UMD Region
- Translation in French
- Fixato a bug related to updating network
- Improved patch to the version of system
- Improved flashing system of Custom Firmware
- Improved the code of the program
- Improved system of flashing files of POPS
- Verify the SHA1 of the files that are installed
- Reduced the file size EBOOT.pbp

This update really has more in store for us than the previously released versions. Aside from the fact that they still cannot find a way to make CFWEnabler compatible with the PSP Fat, I think having regular updates from Xenogears and Becus25 helps us update ourselves in what could possibly be the future of CFWEnabler in PSP 1000.

Psp X-Shell 4.8 With Fixed Bugs For Easier Browser Experience

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Psp X-shell 4.8

Homebrew coder UmbySpit93 released his version of the PSP X-Shell 4.8—a multifunction shell with incredible graphics and multi-useful functions.

In its graphics, the coder added an initial boot while in its functions, it added a recovery (bootable by pressing the R key during the boot), a VSH menu to enter the recovery while game is proceeding, the English language (previous version used French) and the option to choose the style of recovery (m33, GEN).

This version also fixed a bug “that did not allow the opening of the browser and the automatic upgrade.”

The coder said it was not possible to add a file browser in the new features since it is full of bugs, but be rest assured that a file browser would be added in future updates.

Appzer RC 0.01’s First Release

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Appzer RC 0.01’s First Release

PSP coder FaT3oYCG has just released the first version of the browser he is developing for the PGE version of Lua Player. This initial version is quite simple, and has not astounding graphics yet. But FaT3oYCG said feel free to make a background out of this and he’ll add you guys to next release’s credits.

Here’s the changelog for the Appzer RC 0.01:

- Displays current directory.
- Displays up to 18 files at a time.
- Scroll bar to show current position in overall items (this is more useful for when you have more than 18 files in a directory).
- Selected item indicator.
- Color coded squares next to item names.
- Green is a folder that has an index.lua file in it (Appzer will try to launch that file if you click on the folder).
- Orange is a normal folder that has no index.lua file inside it.
- Blue currently means any file that Appzer can open.
- Black is for anything else.
- Displays some basic file information about each file on the right hand side.
- Browser status is displayed at the bottom, this currently does not change.
- Enable / Disable USB mode.
- Take multiple screenshots.
- For other features refer to the controls in the Readme.txt file.

This browser is pretty neat and would work well with your PSPs. The icons are different in color for each Lua file, so that makes it more comfortable and efficient to use. There’ll be no problem for you to distinguish one Lua file from another because the icons’ colors would be different anyway for each one of them.

JPCSP 0.2 Revision 1083: An Emulator For Windows

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

JPCSP 0.2 revision 1083 - PSP Emulator for Windows

Written in Java script, the JPCSP team released a new version of the Playstation Portable Emulator—0.2 Revision 1083.

This version added basic GE capture support, which the team tested in cube samples. “Until we record persistent GE state (texture on/off, etc) for best results replay captures in the same game it was recorded in,” the developer’s note said.

The team also fixed a fresh bug, and the open menu trick would no longer be needed (clicking on the file menu sometimes overlaps the display area and forces it to withdraw). This versions has also fixed the wait umd stat.

Now, browsing the web on your PSPs will become easier with this Windows emulator. What more, you’ll find it easier now to categorize your browser in download websites asking for it. My cousin, who usually has a hard time choosing which browser to use, tried this one and gave me the thumbs up.
