PSP Tools : how to install CTF XMB PSP themes

||
1. Download the plugin
2. Extract the file and place into root of your MS0:/
3. Put the theme file (any name you like
) under MS0:/PSP/THEME/
4. Enable cxmb.prx in Recovery (under VSH)
5. Go to Settings -> Theme Settings -> Theme to select your CTF themes
6. System will reboot to take effect
7. Also notice that you will at least need PSP FIRMWARE 3.90 OR HIGHER to be installed on your PSP in order to get these themes running…

With the release of patpat’s CTF Tool GUI v2, it will now enable you to convert CTF 5.00 theme to 5.50. The CTF theme that the tester tried to convert using the CTF Tool GUI v2 is Nothingface420’s Grand Theft Auto IV for 5.00.
Homebrew coder Patpat says that the conversion process from 5.00 to 5.50 is beta may not always work. This may also not work with all Playstation Portable versions since the test was done on a PSP Slim (PSP 2000) running in 5.50 GEN-B. And since this is only in its beta form, there might also be a couple of bugs when installing so be sure you follow the process perfectly.
Some said, however, that CXMB for 5.50 GEN plug-in doesn’t work with 5.50 GEN-B firmware, “rendering this useless.” But tests said it does, so maybe it depends actually on the CTF themes you are going to convert, and not on the firmwares installed in your PSPs.

Yoshihiro, a homebrew developer, unleashed a utility that installs 5.50 debug firmware on Playstation Portable 1000. It can also run the application without any limitations.
The Debug Firmware 5.50 For PSP 1000 is a testing tool that will allow you to test your downloaded games in file format during its development stage. It will also allow you to see hidden options of your PSP, which could possibly unlock the full capacity of the system.
This testing tool will especially be useful for gamers who do not like downloading different games and plugins into their handhelds without assurance that they will work productively with the system. This will conveniently save time and space for gamers.
Hopefully too, Yoshihiro would create something like this for the PSP 2000 and 3000.
Although no date has been announced yet regarding its release, watch out for this testing tool. This is one download I’m sure you won’t regret.

Backyard hacker agilemonkey has come up with a refreshing homebrew application that he calls PSP PPG v0.22. This interesting snippet of code lets you display English TV listings on your PlayStation Portable using CFW. It acts as a TV guide utilizing the XMLTV format to render its listings. Here’s an overview from the creator:
Here’s developer agilemonkey’s how-to guide:
RepositoryURL = http://agilemonkey.co.uk/psp
RepositoryPRGList = freebox
*Window users use notepad rather than wordpad etc so dodgy characters are not added to the file

There comes a time in a man’s life when he’s about to grab a game update, but then his pesky portable fun-screen starts yammering at him that his battery’s not full enough to get the installation going. Then, his eyes are all crusted over with yesterday’s dreams and tomorrow’s promises, and he’s half-drunk, stumbling around his cobwebby room, pleading desperately for release – or at least a charger or USB cable. Anything to plug in to the gat-dang thing. Crisis scenario. Okay, well, that’s why NoEffex cooked up this little plugin. It simply fools the PSP into thinking that the battery’s at 100% charge, so you can get around the requirement check. Here’s NoEffex’s release notes on the matter:
The main use for this is those games that install updates sony-style, and require 75% or so battery, when that is totally unnecessary and a waste of your time, because if you run out of battery – oh well, start over, nothing harmed, as it does not flash a thing.
How NOT to use: During flashing(specifically flash0) things that require 75% battery. Not a bright idea. You can, but if you screw up, not my problem .
How it works:
Patches
THEN Unloads itself, so it won’t make your kernel memory all lame and sliced up
Though fx_powerspoof doesn’t do anything to harm your battery, there could be a problem if you use it while working on flash0 (see “How NOT to use” note).
Gnarly.
