Its programmer, the undeniably talented Michael Speck, who masquerades in the tumultuous homebrew underworld as Gandji, has included a bunch of cool power-ups and dangerous power-downs to make the game a little more interesting. Now, most Breakout clones include prize drops, so it’s up to the brewer to make them uniquely…

The savvy code cook Thullium has just released an update for his pet application, Flash0 Plugin Loader. This nifty little program drops a seplugins folder into the root of your flash0, functioning just like the seplugins folder that’s typically found on a memory stick. On top of that, it resets the buffer to the exact size needed to hold the plugin text files. Thullium says this about the project:

“This has been coded for the 5.00 M33-2 custom firmware or higher, don’t attempt to run it on a lower version. The plugins you flash won’t show up in the recovery, but…

The last official release of PSP firmware was at the end of November 2008, and since then two separate custom firmware versions of 5.02 have appeared on the Internet.

One of the custom homebrewed firmwares was brought to us by XiaoFeiChong. This version was a recompiled M33 firmware, but XiaoFeiChong’s version doesn’t support backups, including ISOs or CSOs. Still, this is a great piece of firmware if you’re looking to get into CFW.

The second homebrewed firmware came from a group named Team Omega. Like in XiaoFeiChong’s version, there’s no support for back-ups. However, the group claims some “new support for PSX…
