MacroFire v2.4.1 Drops To The Squealing Adulation of Adoring Fans

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

The MacroFire plugin, developed by the homebrew code samurai known as “pen”, has been updated to version 2.4.1. This is a multi-functional plugin that does things like remap buttons, changes the analog stick’s sensitivity, and implements a rapid-fire mode.

Unfortunately, you need to know Japanese to understand the technical stuff of the plugin, as that’s what the readme’s written in. Run it through a translator to get a gist of the functionalities.

The following changes have been made to the plugin in this version:

  • macrofire.ini new “AlternativeButtons” “Remap” “Rapidfire” “Macro” section added. Manual_ini.txt more information.
  • Analog stick to adjust the menu to add a new option Analog stick movement.
  • Adjustment in the analog stick, Deadzone fix was the wrong formula was used to determine.
  • With the correction formula, Deadzone radius of the analog stick to adjust the maximum value of 182 percent.
  • Range of motion in the adjustment range and disable the analog stick, to show the figure to make the visual and adjusted the position of the current position.

Mad props to pen for putting out this excellent homebrew application.

PSP-3000 Drops In Two New Colors In Asia

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Yep, that’s right. The PSP-3000 is being seen in two hot new colors over there, where all the toys are louder and more awesome. The Hong Kong and Taiwan double-drop is labeled the “Carnival Colors” series, and the first two appearances will be an awesome crystal blue, and a gnarly, mega-thermal red.  They’ll be rolling out on 1/15 in HK, and two days later in Taiwan. Lucky blokes, them.

LightMP3 v2.0.0 RC1 Music Player Gets Even More Excellent

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Fans of the popular homebrew application LightMP3 by underground code warrior Sakya will appreciate his latest effort: a much-awaited update to the software that adds some fresh new details, energy-saving features, and better file support.

Music freaks from the homebrew gangland will love the across-the-board support for MP3, ATRAC3, FLAC, and OOGG Vorbis formats. Broad power-saving functionality gets the battery life to about nine hours with the screen at its dimmest setting, and up to 11 hours with the screen off.

Some other fresh updates to the functionality include a better sort function in the Media Library, expanded support for filenames with characters from the full extended set, French, Polish, Spanish and German language support, some graphical facelifts, new icons, and better CPU clockspeed regulation.

Fans love this program, and you will too, if you’re awesome enough! If you’re not awesome enough, exfoliate more and take a fish oil supplement.

There are tons more of info included in the readme so make sure you take a look at it.

Bullet Physics 2.70 Makes Projectile Science Available To Homebrewers

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Put down that kitschy lager you’ve been sipping on all night while trying to figure out what to do next with your amazing life and check out Bullet Physics 2.70. Authored by the mysterious Erwin Coumans, the latest drop of this tasty homebrew development package is a fully open source physics engine that’s got spinal code for both soft and rigid body dynamics as well as three-dimensional collision detection.

So far, the libraries have only been tried out on the PSP Slim. Included in the available download are few demos for you to peruse. Don’t lose too much sleep over this, unless you’re really nerded up and ready to go. Projects like this, however, promise lots more tasty, rigorously realistic homebrew gaming in the near future.

MyWindows Homebrew Shell Beta Test Is Worth A Try

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

The pet PSP shell project, MyWindows, is now in a functional beta-test phase, and it’s ready for installation on your handheld. It’s fun to play around with shell applications, because a lot of stuff could get the jump off from here. LordVisaris is the author of this exceptional piece of code, so mad props, and let’s wait on our haunches to see more of the same from this prolific coder.

The install’s pretty straightforward

o Unzip at the root of your MS and go into the menu xmb game to start: Last day MyWindow
o This program installs drivers in the flash1, even if the risk is minimal, neither I nor the people distributing this software are responsible.
o Run-MyWindow Fusion and then enjoy this software quietly

To give you an idea of how this shell works, check out this video we picked up on YouTube:
