The Nat Yaroze program is the one that made console-development possible and available to aspiring coders—the non-professionals. Now, after 12 years, Sony is said to be pulling the Yaroze PSOne Development Program from the shelves.

Through this, subscribers were able to access an online community, development software and the rare opportunity to access the black Playstation One console, which allows developers to run their own codes in the system.

Probably because of consistent clamors made by fans of the infamous the Final Fantasy series, Square Enix and Sony rated Final Fantasy VII for the PSP and also for the PS3. This means we could be seeing this game soon on the Playstation Store as a PSOne Classic.

And as soon as it’s available on the PS Store, we’ll wait final announcement until its ready for download too. Can’t wait to gift my cousin with a new game on his console. An early birthday treat like the Final Fantasy VII will make me a hero to his eyes.

PlayStation Portable Sales Top 50 Million Units

Sony announced on Friday that global sales of the PSP have broken the 50 million mark. The PSP was first released in Japan in December of 2004 and came to the U.S., Europe, and the rest of Asia in 2005.

The current market leader of handheld gaming systems is Nintendo, whose DS portable console has sold 96.2 million units since December 2004. However, the PSP outpaced the DS for several months last year, according to the Tokyo-based publication, Enterbrain.
