The First Tekken 6 Viral Video Is Here

Monday, October 26th, 2009

The first of the Tekken 6 video for PS3, Xbox 360 and PSP has just come out, so better check it out. The folks over at Imperial Leisure has just informed a PSP site that the viral marketing for Tekken 6 will start to push through this October, but since we’re just a bunch of lucky peeps, we have the latest preview for you.

A series of marketing strategy will hit us this month, but who are we to complain right? As long as we’re seeing some real action from our favorite Tekken characters then I’m better than good.

And if you actually like seeing a woman and man battle it out on the ground, then I am also sure you’re going to love the next video in the coming weeks, which will show two bikini-clad women fighting. Check back again here for more action.

Bling Faceplate For Psp 3000

Bored with your usual PSP look? I mean, black seems to be “in” these days, but there’s still no comparison if you can get your PSPs to look funky and cool. With the XCM Bling Faceplates, you will be able to convert your PSP into an ordinary-looking console into something that will match your outfit, style, and even your mood.

The XCM Bling Faceplate is a complete customization kit for your PSP. Available in red, blue, green and violet. The XCM Bling Faceplates, however, is only compatible with the 3000 series (sorry for those who owns a PSP 1000 or 2000). The kit includes all buttons and tools required for installation, and even protects your PSP screen with the built-in protector.

Let’s just hope that this will soon be available for other PSP versions.

AVEC GPS v3 In 1.50 Kernel Released

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

AVEC GPS V3 (1.50 Kernel) - Release!

The release of this AVEC GPS v3 (1.50 Kernel) coincides with the new firmware that will soon be released, the 6.00. The coder, however, is still in the lookout of who can sponsor him with a PSP-290 GPS accessory, so to be able to test the compatibility of this app with other firmwares.

The AVEC GPS v3 In 1.50 Kernel can track your position on the map in real time with any serially connected GPS device that is compatible with the MapThis! program. The brand receivers include Garmin and Hollux. This version also has a “Find Place By Name” feature that can find any place in the map. There’s a text entry system for this that has auto complete just like with commercial GPS units.

The pack includes a Windows MP conversion tool to produce files of the new MPI type. This can allow fast-searching for real-time GPS navigation. The MP files can be converted with AVEC on the PSP, although your PC might run a little slower because of this.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Trailer

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Prologue & Opening Movie

After confirming the release of Phantasy Star Portable 2, Sega is now releasing some video clips of their recent installment to the Phantasy Star series.

Sega’s official website has just posted a trailer of their new flagship game–the Phantasy Star Portable 2. And although everything else is in Japanese (except for Hideaki Kobayashi’s “Living Universe,” which is the song played in the background), I trust you will enjoy this video as much as it gave me something to look forward to. Really, you need not learn or understand Japanese in order to appreciate this trailer.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 is expected to be released in Japan on December 3, 2009.

DSONPSP v0.1 BETA Released: A Nintendo DS Emulator for the PSP *Updated*

Yoshihiro, the popular homebrew coder, released his latest masterpiece to date–the DSONPSP, which is a Nintendo DS emulator for Playstation Portables. This is where Yoshihiro became popular the most–downgrading your latest handheld consoles using homebrew emulators. Remember converting 2.00 to 1.50 to 1.00? This is exactly the same thing Yoshihiro does with DSONPSP.

Features:

- NDS TouchScreen ratio on PSP

- Mouse pointer

- Sound

- CPU optimization

- Port the latest build (DeSmuME v0.9.4)

DSONPSP is a port of DeSmuME, and the emulator has a very low FPS rate. But don’t worry, Yoshihiro is putting something in works for the PSP hardware. After all, DSONPSP is still in beta form so there is more for Yoshihiro to do. A little treat: the next version will run Tetris DS at 9 FPS.

Hold v4.0 Is A Great Music Player For PSP

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Hold+ v4.0

If you like using your PSP for playing music, Torch’s Hold+ is something you should have installed inside that console. This will also be usable if your hold switch us semi-busted.

Here’s how it works–when the hold switch is on, Hold+ does the following:

- Switches off the LCD screen and backlight.

- Under clocks the CPU to 60MHz.

- Turns off LEDs.

- Allows the use of Left, Right, LTrigger, RTrigger, Volume and Start buttons if you hold the Select button first.

This way, you will be able to save battery power while listening to your music. The original screen and clock speed will resume when you swith it back down.

Hold v4.0 changelog is as follows:

-This is a fix for people with broken Hold switches that keep randomly switching on and off while in Hold mode. Now when the Hold switch is enabled, the PSP remains in hold mode permanently until the switch is fully pushed to the power off position. This will prevent a malfunctioning Hold switch from randomly interfering.

- Removed Display Off mode (hold ANALOG UP while releasing Hold) since holding Select is sufficient for most users.

It also prevents the PSP from going into suspend mode and fixes the malfunctioning hold switch. More, Hold v4.0 enables the 5th brightness level on the PSP Slim. It increases the vertical scrolling speed under the music menu by aroung 50 percent. It will enable you to scroll 300 songs in 10 seconds.

Chicken Invaders Released For The PSP

Monday, August 10th, 2009

[Release] Chicken Invaders by Kairus101 06/08/2009

I haven’t exactly played the Chicken Invaders for the PC, but I saw my friend play this one time and I was thrilled to know how simple and time-consuming it is. Perfect to wile away my hours.

The Chicken Invaders is a simple game where all you have to do is gun down the flying chickens and catch the fried chicken, which they will become once they are gunned down by you. Pretty sneaky right? This version for the PSP is not exactly like the PC version, although the creator, Kairus101, is trying to copy the exact version of the PC.

After downloading, place the Chicken Invaders folder under X:/PSP/GAME/ to install the game. You will need a custom firmware in order for Chicken Invaders to work.

PSP Style Steampunk: A Fallout/Bioshock Mod

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Steampunk-style PSP Fallout/BioShock Mod

Not since AcidMods released its own PSP style to prevent shock and falling did we see something so incredulous-looking for a PSP style. Thomson09, a pspgen local, unveiled to us his steampunk-looking PSP fallout/bioshock mod. Perhaps this is not as bright-looking and flashy like some LED-laden PSP style other have got, but there’s nothing on earth that looks exactly like this PSP style.

At first you’d think this is just some handheld console that got wash away with flood, eroded, filthy, etc. But check out the video to see that it actually works for real. I don’t exactly know how they made it to look this way. The rustic features, etc. are all incredibly done that it doesn’t even look fake to me. But the real deal can be found at the back of the PSP wherein you can see some serious devices attached to it to, if I may guess, prevent the impacts of future overuse.

Now, I don’t know exactly why anyone would like to have a PSP that looks like this–old and rotten. But I guess there’s a certain charm to it that some will probably take a closer look and actually try it too.
