Screenshots Of First Valkyria Chronicles 2

After the announcement that Sega will be bringing the sequel for First Valkyria Chronicles to the PSP, a fresh batch of screenshots was released early this week.

But although we are expecting an earlier release of the First Valkyria Chronicles 2 in Europe, particularly the United Kingdom, Sega has not announced any specific dates yet as to when this will come out in the Western region.

I will, of course, fail to elaborate on the pictures (Japanese-speaking gamers, enlighten us please). But I’ll leave you guys to try to decipher the characters in the pictures, and also to analyze what it says about how the game’s going to revolutionize gaming in PSPs.

Myst coming to PSP via PS Store

Cyan Worlds, the creator of Myst, will finally be releasing the popular game for the PSP on July 16. Through the PSP Store, Myst will debut in US shores the same time as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will come knocking on our doorsteps.

The PSP version, according to GDN reports, will have the same format and gameplay as the original. But as a bonus treat, they will be including the New Rime Age that was supposedly released for the original (but never pushed through).

Myst brings the player in a mysterious island where “no other living soul can be found.” The player must explore the island and solve the puzzles in order to unlock the secrets of the island.

The screenshots provided for the game shows spectacular graphics and interface. Now, we just have for a few more days before we finally get a hold of PSP’s Myst.

Taking Enemies To Your Side Shown In New Undead Knights Screenshots

Turning enemies into minions in new Undead Knights screenshots

Undead Knights, which is produced by Tecmo, is a game where players can command a squad of undead soldiers taken from the enemies they have pushed to their deaths. These new minions of yours will do as they are told (yes, no questions asked. Kinda like a servant, if you ask me), and they can be used as ladders or bridges or they can also be thrown to larger enemies as a kind of weapon against them.

The screenshots—released by Tecmo—shown here shows how the lead characters turned their enemies into their minions. The minions will turn into zombies as they take the sides of the lead characters.

Undead Knights will be available in the US market in fall while Japan will be introduced to this new version on October 15.

New Gran Turismo For PSP Screencaps

Gran Turismo PSP looking gorgeous in new screenshots

I’ve always been a fan of car-race games. May they be Need For Speed or Gran Turismo (or even those simple, classic one in the old GameBoy), I always have this thing for any vehicle that moves… and I want them fast, too.

These screenshots of the Gran Turismo are not from the actual game itself (although those that have been previously released are awesome, to say the least); rather, some site believes these are from the cutscenes of the Gran Turismo for the Playstation Portable.

There’s some clean-cut graphics going on there, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be blown away once this is released to the market.

Gran Turismo PSP will launch on October 1 for the PSP Go. But fret not, I believe the creators of Gran Turismo will soon be working out on the different compatibility formats of the game for each version of the popular handheld console.

Army Of Two: The 40th Day Video From The E3 Fest

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

The ongoing E3 Festival has gifted us with this vid of the new Army of Two: The 40th Day for the PSP. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a leaked screenshot featuring a kid standing between the two main characters, Salem and Rios. Unfortunately, I forgot to look the kid up as to what his role is going to be for this duo.

This vid did not show the kid in the green shirt again so perhaps, it is going to be some kind of surprise when the game is finally released. But the shots did show Salem and Rios in full armor gear and battling it out with the bad guys.

Noticeably, there are some new locations and settings too compared with the previous releases.

Army of Two: The 40th Day is slated for a December 2009 release. It will also be made available for the PS3 and the Xbox. Check it out!

Details Of PSP Persona Remake Revealed

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Laying down the cards: the Persona PSP changelog

We’re all waiting on the edge of our seats for the forthcoming drop of Persona for the PSP. In case you just tuned in, this renowned game from Atlus was originally cooked up for the PlayStation One, enjoyed massive popularity, begat a number of successor titles, and finally got picked up again for a major overhaul and brand new re-release on the small screen. Now, we’ve got our hands on a comprehensive list of what exactly is going to be different:

  • Complete remake of existing of animation sequences and addition of brand new sequences by the Kamikaze Douga studio.
  • New BGM arrangement by Shoji Meguro; back-up vox by Yumi Kawamura.
  • Support for 16:9 widescreen format.
  • New dungeon floors included in the primary story line, as well as in the Snow Queen chapter.
  • New puzzles in the dungeons.
  • Pre-rendered town maps without enemy encounters.
  • Retweaking of encounter rate for a more balanced gameplay experience.
  • Game difficulty option.
  • Option to skip over battle animations; battle load times are two-thirds shorter than in the original version.
  • New save points – and, a brand-new quicksave function.

Super cool. We’re definitely looking forward to getting some serious sit-down time with what’s shaping up to be one of the best games of the year.

Koei Releases New Screens From Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

There’s a bunch of new visuals available from the forthcoming release of Dynasty: Strikeforce. Koei, the game’s developer, has ensured that the adoring public has enough eye candy to keep themselves sweaty for the release date.

The screenshots here include gameplay views, renders of characters, and stills from the game’s cutscenes.

Word on the grapevine is that a special edition Strikeforce-customized PSP-3000 bundle will arrive in Japan around the same time as the game’s planned release date. This rumor is not in any way confirmed, but would be a really fun, nerdy, theme drop from the big boys upstairs.

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce from Koei is slated to release in Japan on February 26th. North America will receive the game on March 24th.
